I caught a trout from a dock on Lake Washington this morning, and noticed some long white stringy stuff coming out of it's rear. You can see a little bit of it on my finger in the attached picture (it was coming from further back on the fish than it appears in this picture), but there was a lot more of it. Sort of reminded me of Silly String or overcooked thin spaghetti. There were a couple pieces, each probably a 8 or 9 inches. Was wondering if this was a parasite, or something else?
I sent the fish back to it's home without the stuff... hope it's not looking for it

Yes, fish get tapeworms, no, that is not a tapeworm.
Now, the fish would not be sperming you this time of year.
I suspect, without knowing more, that your fish was eating something that came out of the digestive system sticky and stringy. Years ago, in my "evil" days, I had an aquarium I kept some game fish in (NO, I don't do it anymore, that would be illegal). When Power Bait first came out, I would drop some in to watch the trout eat it. I noticed that it came out the other end a lot like that - so.....maybe.......your fish is a powerbait stealer?
Now, the fish would not be sperming you this time of year.

I caught a few kokes out at riffe earlier this season that had that stuff all through the body cavity, not just the digestive track. Have no clue what it was, but my buddy was kind enuff to take'em off my hand cuz i was a lil leary bout eatin'em and he didn't die from it so it cant be to bad
Fishing relaxes me. It's like yoga, except i still get to kill something.
