RE:Scents
Haven't tried it, but I can say it has crossed my mind. I just hate messing with bait/scents in general. I'll use them when I have to, but most of the time I like going without. I'll be interested to hear if anyone else does this.

The local Dick Nite company has some scents new in the last year that are good for trout and kokanee. I use them.

The SPECIAL MIX by smelly jelly is shrimp/anise and it works the best I have found. I also like the crawdaddy for bass and bows it is craw/anise I believe.

I've used scents for trout...not sure which one's,I think the Gulp spray and a few others.
I think the salmon/steelhead stuff would work fine,I certainly don't think it would hurt anyways.

Ya know I've always have the best luck w/o scents it seems....except for corn or powerbait...but i consider them bait in their own right (whole kernel corn)
