Basicly I have two question:
Is there still a chance to get hatchery Steelhead this February?
Is there a chance to get wild steelhead this february?
Rivers I have in mind are stillinguamish and skykomish.
Thanks

RE:February Steelhead
yes, but if i were you i would try the sauk river up near darrington it has a good run of natives and you can keep hatchery steelhead into march and april selective gear rules. but always check yor regs book. i have been fishing the sky all year and have had hook ups every time i go but it is winding down fish wise. the best place to go is either rieder or wallace flats. how high are you willing to fish up on the skykomish. pm me if you want more info
If it looks fishy, Then fish it, If it dont look fishy, fish it anyways. <')}}}}><

Yes to both. Some fish are still coming out of Reiter and more and more natives are being caught as we progress into the Nate season....motorek wrote:Basicly I have two question:

RE:February Steelhead
Feb and March my bud has a custom home just off her and have had the pleasure to use his place as stop overs, sleep overs, drift boat drops and showers and meals if we provide Jerome Black the meat on the BBQ for 25 years .
He has more custom hotrods then we have fish so the trip is always a great trip fishing and watching a plus 66 year old do burn outs all over the Sauk highways :colors: :batman:
We love the Chevy 502, 510 and 575 BB

RE:February Steelhead
:colors: Right here Where the Sauk meets the Suaittle/tribe river:brilsmurf and really poor spelling.:colors: LOL BraindeadgoneSwede:cheers:
The Fish acclimate for days there and monster nates but bring your A game.
Float fish the pinkie worm or puffer ball, work your way down to the mouth many many great slots to fish.
Its best in a drift boat or toon but they can be taken from the beach I have killed and released many Great fish on the Sauk and Now is Game Time Fish on!!!
Go through Darrington and head towards Rockport you will see where the 2 rivers meet and there is 50 more great holes to the mouth where it meets the mighty Skagit :bounce:

RE:February Steelhead
This is not my pic but I tied up a bunch in the SwedishMetalMeatBall pattern. :chef: I don't have a vise but these guys are easy enough to tie up. Plus you can run them in your bait loop for quick color changes. Of course, I've yet to catch any fish on them as I've been sticking close to home, but that doesn't really say much. I don't catch anything on the hundreds of other bait options either LOL
