What about the trout fishermen??

Post by fishaholictaz » Wed Jan 07, 2009 9:56 am

Well I see the bass gurus are making their 2009 trophy board for bass. How about a board for the trout fishermen maybe 4 pounds to get on? :-k

I used to do nothing but trout fish in the lakes I visit.Sometimes Crappie,Bluegill and Cats. But since this last summer I'm really digging the Bassfishing.I havent caught any worth photographing but I'm still at it.Not so much in the cold weather.I find since I lost my big load of weight that I'm way colder then before.I like the idea of a trophy trout page.
When youre up to your rear end in alligators, its hard to remember that the initial plan was to drain the swamp.

Considering that the state is planting Trips in other bodies of water, how do we keep the trips out of our photos?

They planted a bunch in Sprague this last year, and I expect that they will soon start hitting the 5-6 # mark.
Too much water, so many fish, too little time.

Triploids are getting big in all the planted bodies of water ex. mineral, but anybody would be happy to catch a trip over 5 pounds so I say what is the big deal let them be proud and show them off!!

We could debate trips all day.

I vote to keep it simple: Trout Trophy board 5lbs and up.

I fish not because I regard fishing as being terribly important, but because I suspect that so many of the other concerns of men are equally unimportant, and not nearly so much fun. ~ John Volker

Not to make things too complicated but it would be prudent to go by species or variety and not just trout in general. There are a number of different trout varieties in our State and if Joe Blow pulls out a 12lb Steelhead out of the Cowlitz is that really a trophy? How about a 2lb Golden Trout or West Slope Cutt out of your secret alpine lake? Perhaps you just limit this board to lake caught rainbows over....5lbs? Rufus Woods fish and lake planted Steelhead (ie Lake Kress) must be over 10lbs. :-k
