Anyone goin to Rufus this weekend?

Post by AdsBot [Google] » Wed Dec 03, 2008 10:39 pm

Well, turkey day has come and gone and now its time for Rufus. Eight of us towing 3 boats are headed that way Friday. All bets are on and the trash talk has already started – can’t wait. If anyone else is goin that way you can always find us in the State park huddled around a campfire both Friday and Saturday nights. Just stop on by and maybe there’ll be a brewsky or two with your name on um.

Hello stampie,
Good luck fishing this weekend.
I believe that Bridgeport state park is closed for the winter.

Hello again stampie,
I just checked the WA state parks web site and it does show Bridgeport state park as closed.
Hours as follows:
Summer: 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Winter: Closed Oct. 27, reopens March 20.

I checked and found that Steamboat Rock, Lake Chelan, Conconully, Sun Lakes & Wenatchee Confluence state parks are all open for wintertime camping.

Lake Chelan state park is most likely the closest state park to Rufus woods that's open for winter time camping, it's about a 50 minute drive each way. Wenatchee Confluence state park is another option but it's about a 1 1/2 hour drive each way.
Again, Good luck.

Since so many are using the park the state is unofficially keeping 5 camping sites and the boat launch open until the first major snow. Great news for many of us. You are right about the state website stating that it is closed.
