Post by A9 » Sat Oct 25, 2008 9:44 pm

How bad can UW football be??? They were getting booed pretty good from what I could tell tonight over the TV. That defense is just horrible.

Time to fire Ty....

Sorry for venting...

Any other UW football fans out there?

On a ND note i met Charlie Weis friday at the Skyline HS football game as he was there on the sideline watching Jake Heaps. Very nice guy. I have also met Ty as his son played for Skyline last year and he too is a nice guy just doesnt have the players around him to make the team good.

I live on the east side and follow UW football. I know the program is having troubles, however 4 years is not alot of time to turn around a mess inherited from AD Hedges, and Neuhausial (sp). Besides how is the university going to afford, buying out Ty, along with the current amounts they are paying out to Hedges, Neuhausial and a few others. The last point is that they did fire last years Defensive coordinator, this years Def. Coord, has many years of NFL experience. Sometimes, believe it or not it is not the coaches. If you do not have chicken to make ckicken soup it's not chicken soup, no matter how good a chef you are. Keep the Faith, the Dawgs will be back!!

David Hall-
Money will not be the issue for UW and finding a new coach! And, everyone needs to stop blaming Hedges and Neuheisel from yrs past. Willingham has had 4 yrs to show a sign of beening able to win, keep word "sign(s), and he simply has not. Everyone has said he has been lazy when it comes to recuriting over his years, expect for this last recurit class. Yea, the leadership in the front office wasnt the best (hedges/neuheisel) but they are long gone!

The way this 2008 defense plays is pathetic, you would not be able to win a game in the Sunbelt with this unit. I understand they have ton of freshmen, but there has been not improvment from Wk1 to now. Same mistakes and same results. And, I actually like Willingham as a person, etc..but, I think everyone knows he is not the guy to get the job done. He even said it in the press conference awhile back.

You are right tho...THE DAWGS WILL BE BACK! Every program has down or bad years. Cal used to be horrible, Arizona was not good, so it can be done.

Finding a new coach (or at least a prestigous coach) might be tougher now than it was in previous years. UW isn't as glamorous or as premier of a coaching job now as it used to be, thanks to several years of losing (badly)

Yea, not really any big news about UW going in diff direction with head coach at end of season. We all knew that was coming. Now it is public to everyone and coaching search has begun. We might have the worst recuriting year in UW history coming up. Signing day is Feb. and he is done on Dec. 6th. If you find a coach before hand, maybe you can save recuriting to a degree. But it depends on who that coach is. 2-3 years before we start winning again. Hold on UW fans we will be back.
Go Huskies!
