lake washington bridge area
A co-worker of mine was talking about going under the bridge on Lake Washington (didnt say a specific one if there is more than one) but had talked about there being a huge dip in the water level......was just curious if anyone had info on this?

There are 2 highways crossing Lake Washington, 520 and I-90. I-90 crosses the lake in 2 spots the main part of the lake between Seattle and Mercer Island and the East channel between Mercer Island and Bellevue. 520 has a nice "causeway" leading up to the floating bridge section that goes through Union Bay and the Arboretum. However I think that your friend is referring to the I-90 bridge section on the far west side of the lake. Your going to find about a 35' to 70+' drop-off before the floating section starts. All the spots under the bridges around the pillars are popular places to stop and pitch a jig for some bass. I have also used the 520 causeway as a refuge during a downpour/thunderstorm and managed to boat a few perch and bass while riding out the storm.

I heard underneath the I-90 section of the bridge is pretty hot right now for smallies, the only down part about it now is that seafair is going on so there is so much boat traffic out there that you cant fish. I'm going to try and give that area sometime next week when things die down on the lake.
