$5/gal gas vs $24+/gal lattes
I still see that people are not complaining about the price of their daily fix of esspresso which averages out to $24+ per gallon and does not do much more than taste good and give you a couple of hours of boost and a daily dose of useless calories while a least a gallon of gas gets your physical self to a place you want/need to be.Howard Schultz is sure enjoying his profit margin, too bad he could not have been happy with that and not sell the Sonics#-o .Anyways ,if you are a purchaser of these drinks you should not speak of the price of gas since you are hosing yourself with the expense of your beverage.

Yea ,I do not really care for it either, too acidic for me,but the frappucinos are tasty but now Tully's makes a version so I can buy them instead for a treat. As far as the Sonics go,#1 enemy to the team was IMO wally walker.Bad deals ,trades, advice and the fact he brokered the deal to bennet & boys for a nice tidy sum.

I heard that there is a coffee shop in Vancouver selling 8oz coffee for $16!!! Something about it going through cat feces or some such nonsense.

Hey, I looked up the definition of the word "gall" on the web...
gall 1 [gawl]
Noun
1. Informal bold impudence: she was stunned I had the gall to ask
2. Charging $4.50 for a cup of coffee and putting out a tip jar

Tully's > Starbucks. I don't like coffee, guess I'm not old enough yet, but everyone in my family prefers Tully's and I enjoy their breakfast pastries...

That's a great point, I enjoy starbucks...and tully's, interesting though....I don't complain about gas prices, or the weather, or much else unless it's tounge in cheek. I'm not trying to be high and mighty, but why complain about something you can't change?

I quit Starbucks and when i did Dutch Brothers moved in.

I used to go to starbucks occasionally (maybe 1 every two weeks) because it was the only place in walking distance for coffee and I have never cared to drive for something like that. I noticed at a Tully's about 10 months ago or so that all of their coffee is Organically grown and fair trade. That right there made me only buy Tully's on the rare occassions I treat myself. For my home brew which I have about 1 cup a day I use my equal exchange coffee that I can by at my church (about 8 dollors for a 12 oz bag I think). What I really like about fair trade/equal exchange coffee is it encourages small time farmers who grow coffee to do so in a Co-op and in a sustainable manner all over the world. then the coffee is bought by one company, processed, and sent to the buyer, the only thing that there is a mark up for is the cost to the company for shipping it. the rest of the money gets sent back to the co-op to help with development and more sustainability projects.) This is also the only type of chocolate I buy now as well. (and it is really really tasty dark chocolate.) I don't buy gas anyway and I have figured in just 2008 I have saved myself almost $1000 by biking.
mmm...this makes me want a coffee now!

I always get a big kick out of the drive-in coffee places. I can't believe people are so busy in their lives they have to sit in line with their car running to get a cup of Joe. I can't help but shake my head when I see 8 - 10 cars waiting in line for a coffee. Yes, I drink coffee, straight up. I grind mine (Millstone brand) each morning, fill my mug and put the rest in my thermos before I walk out the door to go to work. It all depends on what one wants to spend their money on.

Yep I love my coffee , but I dont need it, I want it!!!
Now gas on the other hand I dont want it, but I need it!!!
So I'll complain all I want about fuel prices while at the
same time enjoying my coffee.

If Washington had Caribou Coffee, half the Starbucks would have to close their doors. I don't even consider myself a coffee drinker but when I lived in Ohio I would be at Caribou at least 3 or 4 times a week.
