RE:Fishing with a Bobber
I prefer the slip bobbers that have a hole lengthwise through them. They just slide on the line. Set the stopper to the depth you want and they stop when they hit it. I don't like the slotted bobbers. They tend to tangle up

No a bobber stop is simply string knotted on your line to stop the a slip bobber.FishingFool wrote:The bobber stopper. Is that the tiny little plastic piece, where you eye it through the hole, then wrap around the body and through the other hole?Coastfishin wrote:From the hook up: Hook, 3'leader, swivel, small egg sinker, small bead, slip bobber then bobber stop

Hmm, on one of my old bobbers, it came with that little plastic thingy. When i took a hard cast, it snapped right there. I tested out the spare and that little plastic thingy cuts my line.bigbasstaz wrote:No a bobber stop is simply string knotted on your line to stop the a slip bobber.FishingFool wrote:The bobber stopper. If I am going to sit on shore with a bunch of friends, I will use a bobber it is (for me) easier to see a bobber bobbing then a pole Pulling when I am drishing.

There's nothing like seeing the candy cane dunk below the water line for a nice hook up. Simply fishing at it's best!

Start building an add on for your dock taz. I want in too.
RE:Fishing with a Bobber
Bobbers and a worm are still the old standby for many freshwater fishermen. While this method sure does work for trout on the top water surface, it is also fun to pursue these trout with weighted spoons, especially if your just looking to catch and release fish...

RE:Fishing with a Bobber
We fish off a dock in LkWa and the kids make a killing with bobbers & a bit of worm. To make the combo perfect, bring along a huge cooler and fill it with water while you're fishing. Then take the fish you catch and let them swim in the "aquarium".
Soon the kids will stop watching the bobbers and start playing with the fish! We have put 25 fish into the aquarium (all released, this is just for fun) in an afternoon. Mostly perch but pikeminnow and smallies certainly will take the rig as well.
In the summer, we go with LONG leaders -- 6' and no weights at all, fishing at/in the weeds.

I like worm and bobber, and really any scheme to get hooked up, but sure is nice to feel every little bump while spincasting. I live for that contact with the fish -- the more violent the impact, the better.Sam Kafelafish wrote:Bobbers and a worm are still the old standby for many freshwater fishermen. ==urban== please don't tell me to C&R or to fish your way, thank you
