kevinb wanted to see some of my alpine lake pics, so I thought I would start a thread for whoever wanted to share their pics as well. Here are mine. Some from Fragrance Lake, Lost Lake, Whatcom County. North Lake, Granite Falls. Goat Lake. Tomyhoi. and some I really don't know.
My addition to the pics of feet from high places, 5400 feet roughly
a few more

RE:WL.com High lakes photo collection
Maybe I'm mistaken Rabbits, but I just browsed through the WL.Com photo contest and I didn't see any pictures submitted by you...
With the quality of some of the pictures I see here, I'd encourage you to post some of your pictures there....
Great idea for the thread...I wish I had some pictures but unfortunately the last few trips I took were probably 5+ years ago and I have no pictures to show....

Ya I want to submit some and haven't yet. I like the one with the log best. I am going on two more hikes before the end of the month so I will see if any of those photos yield any winners.
Thanks for the compliment.

Tomyhoi...interesting. I've fished that lake. I also hunted mountain goats by it. There's three ways to get to the lake. One...hard, another easy but requires bushwhacking and the third, via BC logging roads if they still exist.
I have one good lake up by you that's not in discussions anymore as the WDFW removed it from the special regs.

Can you guys title the photos so that Mike can add them to the lake index photos? Great shots.
RE:WL.com High lakes photo collection
No, I didn't even realize that there was any kind of photo contest. I have not been on the site much lately because I have been very busy, but I may be on more now that I am finding more free time. When was the photo contest and what were the rules/stipulations? Will there be another?kuttkilla wrote:Nice photos mallard83. Just gorgeous...did you enter the photo contest? RE:WL.com High lakes photo collection
No...but post them in the photo contest thread...hurry...only a little bit of time left to enter and there are prizes and such...let me see if I can find the link to the contest...mallard83 wrote:No, I didn't even realize that there was any kind of photo contest. What do you mean by title them? And how do you do this I tried to go to "edit post" and all I got was the text, so I am unsure of how to label each seperate picture?:scratch:Marc Martyn wrote:Can you guys title the photos so that Mike can add them to the lake index photos? Great shots.

Here you go mallard83:
http://www.washingtonlakes.com/Forum/vi ... php?t=2628
Post your photos here for the contest...
and save them when you name them before you upload them...so if it was Pine Lake that you took the photo of...name the photo "PineLake.jpeg" or something like that...that's just an example...

If you continue to have problems, contact Marc, as he is very good with these kinds of questions, and has helped many members in the past with upload issues, that's if you're still experiencing any...best of luck to you! :bounce: :bounce:mallard83 wrote:What do you mean by title them? always a great sight.....except when you want to fish the stream 50 yds. away. this time of the year, bears are not uncommon in the foothills of the north cascades. makes you feel like you have a little "COMPANY" up there by yourself...
I have caught many fish in my life. The most exciting? The next one.....
RE:WL.com High lakes photo collection
Kevinb, it looks to me like all photo's (except #6) are from Fragrance lake.
Are not all of your pictures showing up, or am I missing something?
I've fished fragrance lake a handful of times, and it seems like there is never a dull day. A great place to go if quantity is more important than quality. It's not uncommon to catch and release 20 fish in an hour or so up there....but my largest to date was only 11"...the majority being 8-10. It's full of CT's now, but I have pulled a rainbow or two out of there in the past.
I'm not sure Fragrance or Lost lake would qualify as a "high" lake, though.
Ya sure gain a lot of elevation on the hikes up to them, so they feel pretty high, but they're both around 1,100-1,200 feet.
