Chiwaukum Lake
Has anyone out there been to Chiwaukum lake? I know where it is, but would be interested in some info on the hike in, and what a guy might want to take along. I assume later in the Summer would be better for the snow having time to melt. Any info would be great!
RE:Chiwaukum Lake
Hey, Cornbok. Welcome to the site.
I have read about the alpine lakes and if not for an inability to hike very far I would love to explore them. In reading about them here on this site I would think littleriver from Ethel, WA…where ever that is, would be a good source but he has not been on the site since Wednesday, December 19, 2007. Another great contact on this subject is Mr. Magler.
I am sure someone will step-up and get after your queries.

littleriver knows his stuff and has hiked pretty much every alpine hike there is in washington state - certainly a veteran when it comes to alpine lakes, and someone i have contacted in the past about hikes up and beyond 2500ft.lskiles wrote: I would think littleriver from Ethel, WA…where ever that is, would be a good source but he has not been on the site since Wednesday, December 19, 2007.

I am thinking on planning a trip here pretty soon. I will let you know when. Then I will give a detailed report.
If you have already gone let me know. I guess I should check the reports. Oops.
Anyways, there's some info that I found. Good Luck.

I also learned that cutthroat and rainbow are present in the lake. But could not find any info on how many, if it was stocked, or how heavily fished it is.
