Medical Lake Saturday. Anybody Game?

Post by Lotech Joe » Wed May 16, 2007 9:48 pm

I'm seriously considering soaking a line at Medical Lake this coming Saturday. I'll probably be there between 9 & 10 AM. I'll be the big guy in the 12 foot Jon Boat if I can break away from yard work.
Marc, I'd love to tie up with you. Do you think you can make it?

Im am really happy to see people putting an effort forth to meet people on this site. I think Mike and aaron would be very proud to see people make new fishing buddys because of this site. I would be more than happy to go, but Im from seattle so I dont think Im going to make it. Maybe if the gas prices were cheaper or I didnt drive a V8 we would be in business but I have both things riding against me LOL. So good luck this weekend and Ill let ya know on my next trip out there and we will hook up

I may be in the area. No boat though. I was thinking about going to Fish Lake or West Medical. I crave Medical lake everyday though as I can look at it out of my office window at work and daydream about the fish in it and wishing I had a boat.

Lotech,

I'd love to linkup with you, however I've got a load of rock being delivered on Saturday. Mama is expecting that I get hot on the landscaping issues that's I've been deliberately putting off since the March 1 early opener!

I fished Medical yesterday (Thursday) and it was TOUGH! Four hours of fishing yielded 1 planter rainbow. Another guy who fishes there quite often managed only 3 in six hours. We fished chironomids on sink lines, under indicators, and kicked finned/stripped leeches and nymphs. The most action/bumps/takes came by way of aggressively stripping off the bottom. However, the weather is supposed to cool drastically this weekend and may jump start the fish. Good luck!

Now I'm the one that feels like a rat. Memorial Day weekend in our 25th wedding anniversary and we will most likely have family here all weekend. So I've planned to take my wife to dinner at Templin's Resort in Post Falls, and work in the yard with her most of the day this Saturday. I've earmarked a portion of the day to give her the silver anniversary presents I got for her. Anyway, I won't be able to make it to Medical Lake this Saturday. It looks like the lake is going to have to do without a lot of us anyhow. There is still a camping weekend at Clear or Fishtrap in the offing. I hope I don't have to beg off of that one. Another time perhaps.
Blessings,

Awesome dinner. I'd love to have been fishing but the Prime Rib and Crab at Templin's in Post Falls capped a perfect day. Next weekend is family, and then..... some serious fishing.
P.S. She loved the silver gifts. Thanks y'all for understanding. See ya on the water.

Glad you had a good day. Do you need reservations for that place, our anniversary is next weekend. I want to take my wife to a nice place, but new to the area so I am kind of unsure where.

Never eaten at Templin's, but if you like a seriously great steak, and aren't real big on "high falutin" ambiance, I highly recommend Wolf Lodge Steak House in ID. Take the Wolf Lodge Bay exit off I-90, hang a left at the stop sign, then a right and you'll know when you get there, cars parked everywhere around it and the road out front. Can't miss it. I grill a pretty mean steak, but I don't think there's any better than at Wolf Lodge. Be sure to call ahead for reservations!!! It's probably 45 mins from Airway Heights.

If you like seafood, and much closer to home, Anthony's is hard to beat. Tell them it's your anniversary, and if possible, you'd like window seats - great view! Best to go after dark, with the lights on the falls it's awesome.

Prime Rib for two plus drinks came to $54 something. The view of the river from a window seat was great and we didn't have a reservation. hewesfisher is right about the view from Anthony's. I haven't eaten there since it was a Black Angus, but the view stays the same. Awesome.

Thank you for the tips. I am leaning more towards Anthony's becasue my wife prefers the seafood and the view sounds nice. I will let you know how it goes.
