I found this new website. Its called fishingworks.com. When you go to the site click on fishing lakes then it will bring up a menu of all 50 states, clike on Washington and then it brings up all the counties. There are over 2500 lakes listed with coordinates and topo maps for all the lakes. There is also a link to google earth, so you can get a general idea of the lake. Most of the lakes I have never heard of, I found 2 that were less than 10 mile from my house, and names to lakes that I have been driving by my entire life.

Boy they sure list a ton of the little lakes up around snoqualmie pass and up in the Skykomish area....

A quick glance and found 2 or 3 little lakes near home that I didn't know were there and aren't in the WL.com database - Hmmm possible new "secret" lakes?....

SWEET SITE. IT EVEN HAS A BUNCH OF FARM PONDS/LAKES LISTED OVER IN THE CONNELL/OTHELLO WHERE I SPEND ALOT OF SUMMERTIME. THANKS FOR THE LINK!!!

You got me all excited, I was starting to get sweaty palms, anticipating topo maps of the lakes...

It is just topo maps from the USGS. No lake structure. It was interesting though to see some lakes in Clark County I did not know were there.

It is just a blue spot on the map. They are depending on us, the users, to add information about fishability and such. I think that after a number of people add this information to the site it would be a very useful tool. Right now it is just a locator, for the most part.

If you want the google earth of the lake, click on "comments on this lake". There is also a very good topo of lake WA. They even have the pond that is in Enchanted village listed in the lakes. I went through and wrote down a ton of lakes in the quincy and potholes area along with the coordinates, if all works as planned I should be able to type them in my GPS and get right to the lake/pond. I "cross refrance" the lakes on that site to this iste and other sites to see what fish are in there and to check out the reports. Most of the lakes arnt listed anywhere else though.

Should we add them ALL when we roll the new site out?

I think that it will get a little too confusing if every lake in WA was on this site. It would be nice, but in my opinion it would be just a little much. Plus if you look at the reports there is a lot of lakes that dont have any reports.

What I like to do (when I fish a lake/river/pond, that isnt listed) is submit it to the secret reports. Then like you guys did with Phantom lake, (when there is quite a few reports for an unlisted lake) move that lake/river/pond into the report section.

But I guess more lakes wouldnt be a bad thing, just not the 3,000 that our state has to offer

I just went to the topo maps and found no link...

Went to "Featured Lakes" and at the bottom of the page there is the link to the topo map and another link that has lost its image and when I try to use it it has "gone fishing."

I am stumped...

I agree with GPC, If a lake gets enough reports or you guys get a request to add it, then put it up. Otherwise we can always put them in the secret lakes section. Listing them just to have a bigger list just makes searching through them for the ones that actually have reports more time consuming to me.

I noticed that they even list bodies of water that are without a doubt non-fishable, like in city reserviors. For instance both Bitter Lake Reservior and Lake Forest Park Reserviors in King Co. are capped but they are still listed. I also found a lake near my families ranch in Nebraska that has been drained for like 10 years!

I looked at the site and it does list almost all named lakes. However, many that I didn't recognize on the list in Spokane Co. were either on the game reserve or were very small ponds on private land. Some of them are basically seasonal and dry up in the summer. I think that we should stay with the lakes that are stocked for public use. I would save the gigs on the site for other information.

I was surprised to see Lincoln Heights reservoir listed. It is an above the ground concrete structure covered cistern of drinking water for a highly populated area of Spokane. I was also surprised that Red Lake was not listed. It's also known as Turtle Lake and is located a few miles west of Tum Tum, just north of Long Lake.
I'm stickin' with the lakes we have listed.

I saw the GPS button, but when I click on it I am told it is information for "Premium Membership only"
