Rufus Again

Post by northfork » Mon Feb 11, 2008 9:29 pm

Well my brother and I are heading back to Rufus the weekend of the 22nd.
Hopefully the custom rod I won in an auction will be ready by then. Lamiglas XMG50 graphite 8'9" fast action being built for spin casting. Soooooo
I had to get a reel to go with the rod- Shimano Stradic 3000 FI
and some new braid to put on the reel- Suffix performance 20lb.
If the snow lets us we will be there Friday afternoon and leave Sunday after we limit out.
Will be fishing mostly jigs and some black flies I tied with black corkies, steelhead style, bouncing bottom.
Love to CnR those triploids until you hook a bigun.
Bill

Will be over there this weekend with the Gamefishin crew. Roostertail spinners, small dark spoons, and some bunny leeches for the bug rod should do the trick.

Im Headed over this weekend as well, if the pass lets me. Yesterday a couple of the cameras on snoqualmie were down because of an avalanche, and east bound was shut down.

Nice reel Northfork, good thing it came in time.

There are still 3 cameras down on the pass, but the roads arent looking too bad. Tieing up new jigs and making up some dough bait. Last time it seemed like everything that was white was the ticket so now I am tieing up a bunch of white jigs. Its always better to catch a fish on home mad stuff.

Just 2 more days and on the road Saturday morning 4am.
Just finished tying up some white flies.
Gonna take the ultra lite as my backup rod this time. 6# main line, should make those fish feel like Moby Dick.
