Lake Roosevelt fishing early May

I'm in the process of planning all my fishing trips this year, and I'll be heading to Colville for my cousin's wedding in early May. Just so happens, my boat has a bad habit of tagging along on such trips. Anyway, I've never caught a walleye and was wondering if they are generally able to be found in the Marcus Island / Kettle Falls area of Roosevelt that time of year, if not, are there any other places that would hold them. Any tips and advice would be much appreciated. As a westsider, I've only caught one fish out of Roosevelt and that was a nice smallie while I was trying my hand at fishing from a jetski.

Wally is typically hiding at the confluence of the spokane and columbia arms. 10 miles or so up each side is somewhat the extent of the main fishery, though others may know a few spots.

During May and June, most Walleye are either at the Spokane Arm or the Sanpoil entrance spawning or drifting back to the main body of water after the spawn (mostly at the Spokane Arm).

I'm sure that there is some spawning around the Kettle River or Columbia areas, but the water is much colder that time of year in those parts and I think the Walleye prefer the warmer Spokane Arm to spawn.

Now, later in the year, and especially during late Summer and Fall, the upper lake near Kettle Falls and the Columbia hold a lot of great Walleye.
