Lake Washington Perch Fishing Right Now
Has anyone done well recently for perch in and around Lake Washington or even on nearby lakes? I've wanted to go out on Washington and do some winter perch fishing but haven't been able to read any reliable reports of how it's progressing. Are perch around, and do they bite with the same "eagerness" as they do in the summer and fall?

Deeper water off points. 40-70 feet I hear. Any major point should have some school running around if you can locate them and stay on top of em....
Don't chase reports...Be the report others chase....

ive been out 3 times by boat in the last 2 weeks. stuck to shallower water 2 times and caught zero perch, but, a couple smallies, even though i was marking them on my fishfinder. the latest (3rd) time we found the schools of perch in 65' of water. recently i was fishing the docks at coulon park, after work, but they have moved alot deeper. i just went out to cabela's and bought a bunch of them "chrome" spoons, so, im going to try this week launching at mercer island and go north. keep us posted if you go cuthroatkiller.

I think Lk Wa water temprature is still too low.Trout seem to get real active when the water turns 50'sh.Probably same with the other species.
When youre up to your rear end in alligators, its hard to remember that the initial plan was to drain the swamp.

I definately will. We should meet up out there and try to get on those perch and stay on them...I usually fish the north end of the lake. There was one spot by Juanita Pt. in about 55-70 feet of water that had lots of perch about 1 week ago. The weather looks fantastic later in the week.michaelunbewust wrote:ive been out 3 times by boat in the last 2 weeks. stuck to shallower water 2 times and caught zero perch, but, a couple smallies, even though i was marking them on my fishfinder. the latest (3rd) time we found the schools of perch in 65' of water. recently i was fishing the docks at coulon park, after work, but they have moved alot deeper. i just went out to cabela's and bought a bunch of them "chrome" spoons, so, im going to try this week launching at mercer island and go north. keep us posted if you go cuthroatkiller.

That's a very good point. The water temp now is around 43-44F and we need to get it up to around 49-53F. Maybe if we have a milder March that will help!racfish wrote:I think Lk Wa water temprature is still too low.Trout seem to get real active when the water turns 50'sh.Probably same with the other species.
