What the... ???

Post by HillbillyGeek » Tue Jan 29, 2008 2:19 pm

Link to coffee tubes

What kind of natural fish food smells like coffee? This sounds like more of a masking scent than an attractor. What do you guys think?

If fish actually do like coffee, it's cheaper than commercial fish scents! I'll just bring a couple shots of espresso with me in the boat and dip my jigs. Adding a little sea salt to the sludge might be a nice touch. :-k

Interesting!!!!Probably the guy was drinking coffee one day and spilt his thermos in the water and out of luck he limited and said it was the coffee.Kinda like the old days at Westport .When a guy would puke on the trip going across the bar it was said to be good luck.If its true I'm gonna sell puke tubes.
When youre up to your rear end in alligators, its hard to remember that the initial plan was to drain the swamp.

I heard that they can kill smallies on Coffee tubes! If I remember correctly, there was a show on VS about a week or two ago that had some pro's just slaying smallies on Strike King Coffee tubes. Get in touch with DJ of West Coast Custom Tackle (screen name WCCT). He pours an entire coffee line that will soon have a slot or two in my tackle box. Looks like he's been busy on his website...lookin good DJ!

Very intriguing. Thanks for the link Hillbilly. I have not heard anything about these yet. Reminds me of the old WD-40 trick. Someone accidentally stumbled upon something and now the idea is selling like hotcakes. What's next?
Ohh, and I dunno about the whole puke in a tube thang. Who would buy it? :-&

you would have a life long supply of puke from all the frat houses, etc. they do have a vomit jellybean flavor so some people will buy the stuff if it will help them catch more fish, :-k could have the old ballpark hotdog flavor, billy beer and nacho cheeze flavor, spam and rootbeer, just to name a few:thumleft: <')//<

Do you think we will be able to buy it at our neighborhood Starbucks? Maybe with hazelnut?:compress:
Look for Wannafish A Lure on FaceBook
He said, “Throw your net on the right side of the boat and you will find some.” When they did, they were unable to haul the net in because of the large number of fish.

Wow! I've got it! I'll hang an I.V. drip bag filled with Yuban on the back of my pontoon boat and drag the needle in front of my leech.

Mike, Jim, can you get me set up with a rig?o:)

Not much of trick when you realize WD was originally made from fish oil. Not any more.

No more new things are allowed to come out. I am trying to control my gear mongering and focus more on technique and fish behavior, and the manufacturers aren’t helping me one bit. That said, aren’t tubes hollow for a reason? Just fill them with coffee grounds and an alka seltzer for that effervescent coffee goodness that fish can’t resist after a long night of partying. It's basstacular.

Amen brother! I've got a bunch of lures that I have not tried yet. Some of them have been in my tackle box for years... :-({|=

Double Amen.Everytime I go to certain stores that sell fishing gear and there is a discount table I constantly buy new gear. Some stuff I've never used but it was such a good price I couldnt resist.I have stuff in my tackle boxes that I never use nor have I tried. One year I bought loads of blades and beads to make my own wedding rings.I still got loads of them..Its endless on buying gear.

Now please, hold on a minute. I'm not sure, but this sounds a lot like a Roland Martin Helicopter Lure to me.

Did you guys watch a fishing show, or a modified infomercial? #-o
Too much water, so many fish, too little time.

I swear to you it was an actual fishing show. The only things that I have bought from an infomercial were: Showtime Rotisserie, Rocket Chef, Popeil knife set, George Foreman, GGW, and probably a few other QUALITY products! I might only have one of the above listed items left...:-"

just think of all the coffee brands and flavors for each brand, then there's the decafe, how about chai tea? how about giv'n the product a smoky flavor such as hickory, etc, they already have cheese flavored baits, and for those fish with sophisticated tastes there's all the different wines. could make them so you could eat them to so you would never have to stop heading to the fish'n hole. coffee! got it, smokey somth'n! got it, in the mood for some wine late in the evening!, got it. just think of the possibles!! :clown: :clown: :clown: <')//<
