Tuna reports?

Post by clawman » Tue Jul 15, 2014 8:33 pm

I am in Spokane and have never been fishing for Tuna. Where can I get reports on how the fishing is and a lead on a guide.

Just look under the marine area (Seiku/Westport/Neah Bay etc, reports section read what/when/where.
Along the way a guide may get mentioned. However guides that are not sponsors of this site don't get free advertising.
That being said, just PM the person who wrote the report you read.

I'll PM ya a guide that is Johnny on the spot and on the fish. He brought the first tuna into Westport this year and runs two boats on one day tuna trips. I've met him, great guy! NEVER, EVER have I heard anything negative about his service. I have not fished with him. I did kill 87 tuna last Sept-Oct out of my boat. Everything I've heard is positive... Those charters are about $400-$500 though... The ones advertising overnight charge over $600.... but you are still only fishing one day so I can not recommend any of the larger charters at this time. Check into it on your own in case something has changed since the last time I checked.
The board I follow reports on is filled with a bunch of pricks, there's a few good guys too. If you're just looking for a guide, don't bother with the reports or the other website. There's a wide open kill going on right now way out, weather dependent. [thumbsup]

This made me LOL. You can get reports from the Oregon guys too on iFish as well. They're a bit nicer there and they tend to get a few more of the "exotics" such as dorado and other pelagics from time to time.

At least one of the guides (and I suspect the same one Mark's talking about) reports on the salmonuniversity site. Will PM you too.
