New Season is Upon Us!

Post by dougw » Tue Apr 08, 2014 7:28 am

Well, the lakes are ice free and it's time to chase some tigers. I was on Silver last Saturday and didn't see a fish. I am assuming they are still hanging in deeper waters. Water temps were 44-48, so they need to come up a bit before they will move into the shallow areas. Weather looks promising for the near future, so maybe we will get some action soon!

Yes it is!!!!!
I was thinking about heading out for some tiger fishing in Utah this Saturday (first time going after tigers since 2010...haven't caught one since 2009 actually), but the water temps are really low so I decided to go chase some esox lucius instead since them tend to chase lures a little earlier....surprise surprise....I am glad the new fishing season is here!!!

Hey, there are places closer than that for you down there! Granted, the fish weren't stocked for 5 years, but that means the ones that are there will be big!

Yes, however considering the quality of Utahs tiger Muskie lakes compared to Idaho's down here, driving the extra 20 minutes to 40 minutes, is worth it to me. Plus Utah has a mandatory catch and release on the tiger lakes I would be fishing...plus the closest tiger lake had a total kill off and they just restocked it in October of last year...

I didn't realize you were that close. Heck yea, go to the better lakes. I do the same here, and go to Curlew instead of Silver or Newman whenever I can.....
