Columbia River bass

Post by Mikeel1987 » Wed Feb 12, 2014 6:36 pm

So I just started a new job in Longview and want to fish the Columbia for bass once the days get longer. I plan on launching out of Kalama. Does anybody know where to start looking for Bass down there? What are there more of LMB or SMB? any info is much appreciated.

Smallmouth

everywhere on the Columbia and along all rivers feeding into the Columbia

been too long to remember the side river's name, but it's a few miles south of that launch.

Once it gets a little warmer out they'll be all over the shoreline. I found them in the main river and in backwaters. I never caught anything huge but I caught a ton every time I went from mid March about throughout April. I fished spots from The Dalles to Hermiston all last spring. Jerk baits were my best lure.

Yes it is. For the most part Smallmouth fishing is better on the west side, and Largemouth is better on the east side.

But that is always debatable. [laugh]

Mikeel, have you been out fishing yet? How have you done if you have gone out?

Well how big is the boat? I have a 1995 Nissan that pulls(with a bit of difficulty) a 21' thunder jet. I work Monday-Thursday 10-7pm....ish. Haha the 9-6pm Saturdays. I'm free most Fridays and all Sundays. I'm getting into bass fishing also, just saving my pennies for this bass boat up in Chahalis. My truck is your truck. :)
