Seattle Thug gets a thumpin!!

Post by AJ's Dad » Sat Dec 21, 2013 7:41 am

Some of you may have already seen this but I found it interesting on a couple of notes.
Watch this video of an armed "Person" robbing, or should I say trying to rob a man of his cell phone on a metro seattle bus.

http://news.msn.com/videos?videoid=cff9 ... 35&ap=True" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

A couple of things pop out at me in this video. Take the guy that the thug is trying to rob. The robber comes down the aisle of the bus with a gun in his hand. He gets to the man using his phone and puts the gun in his face. The phone owner reacts by grabbing the gun and struggling with the thug. At the 8 second point in the video, WHILE he is struggling with the thug, the guy actually takes the time to put his cell phone in his jacket pocket instead of just abandoning it while he is battling the bad guy. Looks like the thug picked the wrong guy on this day. A guy with a flip phone would have just let him have the phone. LOL
The other thing that gets me is the dude on the left of your screen in what looks like a Sonics hat. He sits with his arms crossed and watches the comotion right in front of him, while a woman comes in from out of the screen and gets involved. She was trying to do whatever she could to help subdue the bad guy, while the maybe mid twenties strapping young man with his arms crossed waited for the opportune moment to jump up and run away. I'm sure his parents would be proud of his bravery.
It looks at first like the bad guy is getting a barage of punches but then it appears that the people on the bus were wrapping him up with the wires from some ear buds or something.

Kudos to the phone owner and the people that helped out. However I'm not so sure the guy that watched, then ran away needs anything but a dose of courage.

I agree with everything you mentioned. The 'phone dude' didn't hesitate to defend himself, the woman out of 'nowhere' tried to help, the 'runaway dude' needs his own help to be brave. The others on the bus did what they could to hold the robber until the police arrived, bravo. [thumbsup]

I think they were wrapping him up in something. I'd've let him have it. I noticed the hat guy wuss out there too, not his finest moment. The phone dude was a skinny little hipster thing, the bro who slams the weights down in the gym and grunts like a man, ducks and covers while a girl plays hero. That entire video says a lot about our society when you think about it.

It doesnt really matter if someone is huge or super muscular, its all about how your brain reacts. In a situation like this you honestly wont ever know how you will react until something happens. The only real life example I have would be when I was about 15 years old on a river with my family and some friends and my nephew (about 5 at the time) fell in. Even though there were probably 4 or 5 adults there, I was the one that without hesitation dove straight in and brought him back to shore. Everyone is different and everyone reacts differently to difrerent things.
