Ice fishing gear
Thought it might be a good idea to swap some tips on gear and maybe help get some good solid info on products. I'm currently looking at purchasing a cabin style pop-up shanty for me and the little dog to fish out of. Any suggestions on any? Been looking at the CLAM model they have.
Re: Ice fishing gear
The shelters built on to sleds are way more convenient and practical

Agree with juggalo, you can put all your gear in the sled and just drag it out there. Simple. When your out there your dog can sit in the sled off the ice too.

Get a couple of Great Pyrenees and hook 'em up, then Ride the sled! I also just drag my pontoon out there with the gear on it. Can be used for rescues, and there's a built-in seat. Don't do it with crusted snow though. It can wear the fabric.

This is the one I'm looking at. My dad has an older style one from twenty years ago and he just straps it to the top of his otter sled to tow it. Lol don't think my Scottish terrier can tow the sleds but he's a good drinking buddy. Loves blue moon.

Re: Ice fishing gear
Good looking unit. Be sure to anchor the bejeebies out of it. Saw a guy take an involuntary ride across Banks lake in one sort of like that one time in a 40 mph wind. Terrified him. Nobody laughed till we saw he was okay, then...

Re: Ice fishing gear
Gave in and bought it finally. Should get it on Christmas Eve so hopefully Fish Lake has good ice by then. Thanks for the advice on anchoring it down. Picked up a bundle of screw in anchors for it.
