Cascade Season Thread

Post by DannyL » Mon Nov 25, 2013 10:14 am

Ill just start off this thread with saying steelies are showing in cascade! Friday we hit fish and yesterday pulled a nice chromer out.

On that note if a mod or admin could make this a sticky so we dont have multiple topics of cascade going up. I figure we can do this for each river.

Cascade
Skykomish
Skookumchuck

You name it.

Sounds fishy lol
I was up there Friday and saw nothing but fire trucks (caught 11) and dollies(caught 2). Stan, the guy who runs and lives at the hatchery as of late Friday has only seen 3 steelhead yet this year, hardly what I would call "steelies showing up" for the cascade. Also talked with Danny(fishinfreak) while I was there Friday and he also confirmed what Stan had said as to the steel not showing up yet. Talked with 3 separate regulars that have been fishing it daily.....Same thing none have seen steel yet. Considering you caught steel Friday and Sunday and no pics I am thinking someone is telling fish stories. Not to mention your fish stats still show 0 on steelhead???? For someone who has a need to post the number of fish for each species, I would think you would have had that updated before you even started this thread. Not trying to be negative but that is not cool to make people think fish are there when they are not...... :^o

Now I will say Stan lost a real nice one and there was a summer run caught......but as for any numbers...not. Just some strays making there way. Next big rain and some should show up. If you want to fight a bunch of fire trucks they are there but just don't want anyone to be fooled into making that long drive believing people are catching steelhead in any numbers.

I agree as for me I depend on honest fish reports beingin forced retirement money gets tight and the need to catch fish for the freezer or for dinner is real. I dont have the money to chase fish because of a fake or fraudulent fish report!!!!!!!!!!!!!

First of all they are not false reports. Danny "fishinfreak" has seen the pics of the fish we have caught. I wont be criticized by people who think im lying.. Many people on this site have seen the photos.

Danny and many others have seen the photos. My windows phone doesn't allow me to post the photos. Danny is all the proof I need.

Give me a break. What is this the Alaskan Wilderness??

A: There are things you should be doing other than fishing if the money from your disability check is running low. Ever heard of food stamps? You can get frozen dinners at WalMart for less than the cost of a Vibrax spinner.

B: You're complaining about a report from a river thats over 2 hours from where you live. If the cost of living is such an issue for you, then why the hell would you waste money (that you apparently don't have) to chase fish 4 COUNTIES away from you? Even if you drove a Prius(which I'll assume you don't) it would still cost you over $30.00 round trip to reach the Cascade from Bonney Lake.

I understand busting someones balls over saying they caught fish when they didn't, but don't try to guilt trip the kid and claim you rely on these reports to feed your family.

Ive been up there 5 time now in the last 2 weeks and have not seen or hooked one single steelhead. I can also confirm the hatchery got one 3 pounder on the flood last week, thats all theyve seen. DannyL has shown me pics of a few steelhead so there are some fish in there for sure, and for how its been, thats pretty epic you even found one, let alone multiple. I wish i could say the same! but Marc has a point as well, Dont want to lead people on, the cascade is the worst ive seen it for thanksgiving time ... had about 15 last year by now...im officially done wasting my time there... hoping they are just super late.

woah tough room. dannyL i wouldn't even give a report. keep it to yourself and slay them in less crowded conditions. i mean if you are just going to get criticized for it like a report is life death. people should make their own reports. don't rely on second hand info then beat up the guy delivering it.

I suggest shutting this one down before tempers flare. This should have been a thread on the status of the fishery at the Cascade but has turned into something else.
