That ought to do it duncan. That would smell worse than nates blazer!Duncan Dharkeez wrote:Good work Nate! You know burying them is actually an old trick I learned from the K'aiiwechin and it works really well on Tobacco plants and Corn too. I started to let them dry on the top of my van and under the hood too, my hope is that the smell will ward away thieves and vandals when I am away.natetreat wrote:They get smoked and given to the family that doesn't fish. In Virginia, salmon is salmon. Or boiled and made into soup. Lots of good uses for chum. Bury the carcass under your sunflowers when you plant 'em and they grow three feet taller.

Hey his blazer dont smell THAT bad. After about 10 minutes and you get used to it.. lol
Forgot a small tub of nightcrawlers in the trunk of my car this past summer after a fishing trip with my boy. It was in the 90's all week. After 3 days and it finally permeated past the back seat... now THAT was bad!
Re: Salmon and Steelhead Fish Pictures
You're right you get used to it. But damn it stinks! But who am I to talk? My jeep smells like gear oil and wet Labrador.
Re: Salmon and Steelhead Fish Pictures
Could be a fun topic for another thread, a couple years ago coming back from La Push I had a cooler full of coho, bloody water and ice tip over in my trunk when I had to come to a quick stop. It was in August. Was not good.
Re: Salmon and Steelhead Fish Pictures
Still pulling out a few fresh Coho, and a few dark ones in between. The ones I've landed have been a little darker. I've hooked a ton of big chrome bright coho the past two days and lost every one of them. Also hooked the first steelhead of the year yesterday. Did 4 good jumps, a big run, then two head shakes and it was off. Only a few more weeks till they're really in!

Re: Salmon and Steelhead Fish Pictures
my season highlights
Re: Salmon and Steelhead Fish Pictures
Pictures of the last chrome coho of the coastal season. Now it's time for steelhead! I'm booking trips for the Humptulips and Queets starting December 1st. It's going to be epic.
Re: Salmon and Steelhead Fish Pictures
Speaking of Steel...I didn't catch this, but the guy right next to me did. This past weekend on the coast. 12 lb hatchery steelhead. Just drifting a bead and the thing inhaled it. Lucky Ducky! And it was his first ever...what a way to start your Steelhead career.
I was jealous enough that I had to take a pic for inspiration. LOL

Re: Salmon and Steelhead Fish Pictures
sorry it seemed like you were talking about his recent picture
Re: Salmon and Steelhead Fish Pictures
Not giving up, just not booking anymore trips. They are still out there, it's not lights out, and I don't have any available dates. I will be fishing steelhead after Thanksgiving. Whatever silvers we catch are secondary. The Queets, Hump and Bogey will be steelhead city by the 1st, and that's where I'll be.Brat Bonker wrote:that's a steelhead bro, and he said it wasn't his.dustinchromers wrote:mizm05! that is a spectacular coho! one of the prettier ones I've seen this year out of there. you bank it or float? good work!

Thanks bro. I'm a banker. Nothing against boats, just haven't been on one yet. That buck is my best fish so far. Steel is next!dustinchromers wrote:mizm05! that is a spectacular coho! one of the prettier ones I've seen this year out of there. you bank it or float? good work!
Oh, a pic of my 11 lb buck. He was a handsome fella as well.
