Any Steelhead on the Skykomish

Post by Clear-Waters » Thu Oct 31, 2013 4:14 pm

Has any one caught any steelhead recently out on the sky. I am getting tired of waiting for mid November to do some steelhead fishing are there any fish in the river right now? Thanks.

I would say no, I got to the river and got called into work. It was very low and 1400cfs I believe. They said all the fish were caught at first light for about 30 min., I stopped on highway side and there were 3 guys, nobody on reiter side

Summer runs don't spawn until winter, so there shouldn't be any kelts in the system now.
This time of year the summer runs can be very cooperative.

I went fishing yesterday in Monroe, south side of the Lewis st bridge. There were a ton of coho jumping I walked along the rocks under the bridge and looked into a nice slot that was about 5-6ft deep and saw a big steelie just sitting there, being the expert I am I spooked the fish down stream but it turned around passed by me another time heading for the giant hole where all he coho are stacked up.
