anybody fish in the snow?

Post by JT26 » Sat Dec 01, 2007 9:51 pm

Just wondering if anyone was out fishing today in this weather?
From my place i have a little view of lake samamish, and when the snow cleared up for a while, i saw no boats out there.

I've done it before and it's an absolute blast.

Fishing in the rain is tops in my book. If it aint windy, I can deal with rain...

Warm summer rain and salmon fishing out in the salt make some of my best memories, and kick out some of my biggest salmon...

Not in today's snow, but last year it was great. I also went fishing in our boat when a third of the lake was hard frozen with about 2-3 inches of ice.

Couldn't hit some steelhead rivers, so i went out on lake at the crack of dawn and I was the only one out there it was awesome, I even hooked one nice fish! But then the wind kicked up ALOT, so I had to leave since I was already an icicle.

Went today with Fisherman_max up to the Lewis and had a blast. The flakes were so huge up there! Ended up catching nothing, but It was still awesome!
If in doubt set the hook!

I'm done for the year, but in January I'll be back at it. Snow, rain, cold... it doesn't matter. I just love fishing.

Nope, but I drove in it. 18" of wet snow and snowing hard at the Middle Fork Snoqualmie River Bridge at 9am this morning -- the river had slush in it and the truck got stuck -- fallen trees all over the place. North Bend ended up being a mess with over 15 inches of snow! I wish I were fishing -- might of hit up on Lake Sammamish if it weren't for the morning ice.

I was up on the Snoquamie River and got stuck too in the parking lot at the Big Eddy in the undriven snow, had to put the chains on to get out. Didn't fish though but I heard a few steelies were caught by the guys fishing jigs/float in the Big Eddy.

Shoot, I was in the snow yesterday (12-01-07) and it was snowin sideways. I was lovin it. I fish year round and love it all. If I only fished when it was nice, I'd fish like one month a year, hahahah. When it's snowin, I gots on my snowboard gear, boots and all; when it's raining, full on rain gear keeps me good. Although, when it's rainin good, my 12 footer picks up a good amount of water, haha. I tossed a report up for yesterday's trip to Lake Martha, didn't get skunked, but didn't rock it. Don't matter, love to fish!

No. I have some terrible experiences fishing in the snow. Last year me and my buddy went to fenwick, got skunked and moved to Dolloff. I forget my truck door open and the battery died. It was at about 1pm so we had to wait in the cold till 3pm before anybody was off work to come and jump us. Then the year before that me and my cousin got stuck in the snow up on the Antilon trails right out of Manson and had to hike out 10 miles in the snow. I think this will be the year that I stick to having snow ball fights

I went out fishing yesterday on Long, 34 degrees, had to break about 100' of ice with the squirtboat to get out. Oh, and pulverized my taillights on the trailer getting it in. Oops. 2 squallys and what I think was a largemouth (lots of fighting and jumping and general craziness) before he spit my crankbait right back at me.

Goin out for seconds today, but its only 30 and the boat froze in against the dock....
