My deal is this is not a native steelhead. You are just stirring things up.NFCustom wrote:What's your deal?primetime wrote:Go away!!NFCustom wrote:I don't really care at all. I'm just pointing out that it isn't legal. I'm sure that fish swam away fine.

Re: Best photo ever
Page 10 of the fishing regs states:
Handling Rules
Freshwater: It is unlawful to totally remove
salmon, steelhead, or Dolly Varden/bull trout
from the water if it is unlawful to retain those
fish, or if the angler subsequently releases the
salmon, steelhead, or Dolly Varden/bull trout.
(underline mine)
So, #1, it doesn't say if this fish was caught in Washington and #2 it does say the fish was released. If it was caught in Washington, that would be a reg violaton.
Since the angler stated he released it, in order for this to be legal, it had to have been caught outside of Washington. At least, that's how I'm understanding the rules.

A pink salmon is still a Wild Salmon. Just because there is an abundance of them does not mean that they deserve less respect.

Re: Best photo ever
It's not a matter of it being a pink, or respect, or anything else. We don't want to post reports or pictures that show fishing infractions. (whether from a regular member, a premium member, or a guide sponsor).
I'm not saying this is an infraction since it isn't indicated whether this fish was caught in Washington or Canada. I posted the WDFW regulations on this matter for clarity only.
We'll leave it at that.
