You're welcome for making you realize that. lol. I have definitily caught the same fish more than once before, but not 4 miles apart. That's pretty cool that the fish moved up 4 miles in a day, you must have put the fear of the fish gods into her. Steelhead can stay in one single hole for weeks up to months depending on situations. You really must have motivated her.

They get those scars when they get hooked. When the slime coat gets injured, say from rubbing the bottom, or getting stuck with a hooked, it makes the fish susceptible to fungal infections at the spot. That's why you catch chum with that fungus on them so much, chum fight each other and bite with their big teeth. When the fish are in fresh water, they're wanting to spawn, so the energy normally reserved for their immune system goes to eggs or milt, and the fresh water introduces new fungus that takes advantage of that.

Got to get out with my dad on the river today in my drift boat. Hes been wanting to get in the boat and finally got a chance. We went 5 for 7. I rowed most of the day but still managed 2 of the 7 on anchor. Fun day!

Idk how he has any left but that fish is doing some business on you. (unless it's just water coming out of there) I've had that happen too. I hate when you pick one up that is just starting to get loose and milt......you lift him out of the water and gravity takes over. Yuck! lol. And the lower jaw on it makes me hear a banjo for some reason.

That jaw looks like it's about to fall off! This is why you don't chew (roe) boys! That fish has seen better days for sure.
