Beauty & The Beast Lake Trout

Post by NMfishn » Fri Mar 01, 2013 8:46 am

Here's a video of my wife hauling a monster Lake Trout from Heron Lake State Park in New Mexico. She ahd a cheap Wal Mart rod rigged with 6 pound test. The fish took a tube tipped with sucker meat rigged on a JawJacker. It took her 2 hours and 15 minutes to get that fish but but we finally got her through the ice and let her swim away after a couple still shots.

Hope you enjoy!

Wow, just wow, incredible fish, epic battle.
Mind if I ask what editing program you're using.

Again, great job on the video.
I've found the free Trakaxpc, is there a pay version?

Very well done video. Also impressive to watch your wife expertly handle that megga fish on a light outfit. You mean it when you say she was fishing with a inexpensive, wally world ice fishing spin outfit? Did the line come spooled on the reel/rod combo? So, the line was not top end either?

You don't need a high end rod to catch fish?..................Brilliant!!

There is a pay version on the same site. I think it's only $25 or something. But I also use an adobe creative suite for graphics and effects. Not many went into this video but they're used in a lot of my newer videos.

The line was new line... We rigged it up the trip before when Doug brought that wife to Vermejo. See the combo belongs to Doug's wife. My wife just wanted to use it cause its pink! Lol

Scary moment, dropping the fish back through the ice. After having that beast of a fish halfway/almost landed!
