That's what I was saying.

I know they recycle in march I was saying that the run is basically done in april and that they are mostly recycles in there. When I was there last march I went a couple times and hooked about 3 each trip and only 1 fish I got had a hole punched in it the rest were chrome or a little dark. I fish the corner hole with float and jigs. April is a little different though but early on there are still semi chromers but the ratios have flipped from dark to chrome but by mid march most are spilling eggs yes except I got pretty lucky last year and caught a couple nice hens. Also I caught 1 fish in there that had 3 punched hole, only 1 and that was mid to late april when I would hook double digits and even most were 1 or 2 hole punchers.

My husband fished the skookumchuck yesterday all day, never hooked anything, he also said everyone he talked to had the same story. We might try our luck down there tomorrow though.

There should be WAY more fish in skook than there is now. Combination of a slow steelhead year and the nets, who knows. Me and kockmandoo hit multiple fish in january and its slower now. Gonna be a well-below average year.

Had a great day fishing with friends, meeting some cool people like schu7498, nice meeting you by the way we thought we saw you in the fields but weren't sure since you weren't carrying out any fish.
It sure was slow saw like 4 caught and 1 was mine, everyone is talking about the nets even the steelhead mine had a huge net gash in its belly. And the locals are p'ed off since they are not catching as many fish as last year.

I fished it, Saturday for the 1st time and did not see any signs of steelhead. Everyone was talking about it being "slow". The only fish I saw were by people chasing bot coho. I fished a couple of places. I did see a boat working the area I was fishing but they seemed to not be catching any. I stil had a great day on the water.

fished down low on Sat. Hooked one Steel that took me into a log jam. Was a great day on the water. I did find a section that was loaded with cutties. Hooked and landed 8 all between 10 and 13 inches. Every one of them inhaled a jig.

were you down by the mouth then, skook seems a little small for a boat.

Woo-hoo! Man it felt like they'd never be able to run the gauntlet of nets, but it's ON now! First one to land that 20 pounder gets a beer (or soda) on me!

Pink corky, pink yarn, short 2ft leader and a pencil wt. no scent or bait which was surprising. No pics I thought I did not have my camera with me because I checked a couple pockets in my vest then when I got home and started looking for it it was in a pocket that I did not check WOW I was mad ](*,) #-o
Just imagine a 7lb buck that is chrome and with a HUGE net gash in its belly...plus a missing adipose fin of course.
Also caught it on MAXIMA ULTRAGREEN LEADER!!! it works everyone it WORKS!!! haha glad I had it too haha.

I'm going out tommorow as well. wish me luck!
There are some achievements which are never done in the presence of those who hear of them. Catching salmon is one, and working all night is another.

Just posted a report, but it's still a bit slow. Saw one buck come out of the fields today (unpunched), but that was the only fish I saw/heard of out of the water. Did have two headshakers, but we really need some rain to push them up. Tonight would be good, as there are no nets in the Chehalis right now.
