Brat Bonker wrote:I fish light drags too so the fish can run better with the 6lb and it is more fun fighting a 5-7lb brat on 6lb test than 10. And don't get me wrong I have hooked fish there with 10lb too, I only use 6lb at the cascade and anywhere during the summer for steelhead, other than that it is 10lb fluorocarbon.
Was there other people catching fish at the cascade too yesterday?
I only saw one other fish caught in the hole I was fishing. I think there was 3 or 4 other guys fishing that spot besides Tim and I.

I knew that when I started saying yesterday that I haven't been losing fish since switching to the new mustad 32833 jig hooks I was jinxing myself. Sure enough I lost 2 nice ones today. Still was able to get number 23 and 24 by 8:00. Tim and I went 4 for 6 with the 4 keepers being all about the same size, and the 2 I lost being much larger. 3 other people where fishing the hole, but no other fish hooked while we where there.

Good Lord, you guys are killing me. I'm working hard to just hook four this season and you're yanking four per trip with fish lost to boot! Boy, I've got a lot to learn. Nice work. Maybe one day I'll be able to throw my hat in the ring. :salut:

hey FF I was fishing in that spotwhere your top pic is except down by the tail out casting up into that slot, are you bobber dogging or jigs in there, oh and that spot is good at the last couple hours of daylight too but you obvisouly found that out.
Nice fish too good times, straight up slaying those brats, seems like some fresher ones came in or are they squirting eggs?

i think the cold weather is effecting the fish right now... yesterday at reiter i was bouncing jigs off their faces all morning. sun came up, got a little warm, watched a fish hit a jig i had been putting in front of its face all morning. i switched to a new jig maker and im getting alot more bobber downs but alot more jigs flyin across the fishin hole after some steelhead-shimmy-shake action. i did switch from mono to braid too and i think im babying my hook sets to much.

todays was brighter fish then yesterday. All hens have had loose eggs though. Just ate the buck from today for dinner and it was great. All the meat has been bright red still!

geez, are all of them in the ponds or what. Also does the hatchery bonk all the fish or do they let them go to come back next year?

jigs, all been jigs so far, and yea hens are squirting, one so far that wasnt, but i fish downriver where fresher fish are. Its slowing down daily now because its low and clear, nothing is moving in, but with another rain we should se another late push. for now its gonna get slow because nothing is moving and a lot are dieing daily

you use that cerise/blue jig in the clear water there FF, seems like the fish would shy away from but it seems to attract them pretty well haha.
