Im sure people are more then willing to share. But I think you should stop being lazy and research yourself. Im not tryng to be rude but its easier and faster to search the web for your own info. Theres more then a couple websites like this FULL of river locations, lures, scents, basic how to rig up this and everything else you could ever need.
If you know what to use and how to rig/fish it, go to the river and scout around, find a hole and fish! You can ask and read questions all you want, they only help so much. NOTHING beats actual time on the water for experience.
You may not be "trying" to be rude but you failed, here's a hint, don't presume to know anything about anyone from one post. I do search the web, have purchased river maps to research possible access locations and get on the water as much as i can. You didnt tell me anything i didn't already know with those "insights", actually fishing is the best way to learn about fishing? You dont say....
I believe self motivation combined with the willingness to listen from those that know more / have more experience than you is the best way to go about learning anything. If a more experienced angler wants to help me out i'm grateful for it, if they don't, that's fine too, it wont stop me from trying. Hence my trips to rivers this year with very little know how, just motivation and wanting to be on the water learning. Hell i'll go to water just to be around it, i love it out there, work and other responsibilities prevent me from being out as much as i want.
I dont like drama and not looking for a fight, you called me lazy without knowing the 1st thing about me, thought that warranted a response. I will ask for advice in the future on this site, if that bothers you please feel free to not respond to me. Thx
true story. If it makes you happy to take no advice from anyone and catch one on your own, then fine. But i learned most of what i know from my dad, uncle, and guides like Phil Stephens and John Sullivan. I was glad to listen to everything and learn as much as possible, so instead of taking 5 years to catch one fish, i was much quicker on pace to catching more and more fish. I know people who fish with me that WILL NOT listen to any advice i have. they want their fish to have nothing to do with me or my advice, they want to do it all on their own. Stubborn, and stupid. there have been times where i tell a buddy of mine to cast by a certain log or spot, and he wont do it, and i hook one second i throw in there. If someone told me to cast in a certain spot to hook a fish, or use some special lure, hell ya im gonna freaking do it! Learn from others, its the fastest way to learn. No website can tell you as much as a local fisherman on the river, or a well seasoned guide

Calm down there cowboy. You said you wanted any and all advice.
If you really do the research you should quickly see almost everything is a repeat of something thats already been posted a million times. New "hot" fishing techniques and spots aren't going to be given asking for any advice you can get. Your going to get the same pink orange and white colors and jigs at 20 to 30 inches below your float thats everywhere already.
Want some even better advice? If your going to get upset over a post on the internet (especially when all i did was call you lazy) dont come onto fishing forums. Or get a really big grain of salt :salut:

Jd39, just go back through the "River Fishing" forum and you 'll find all sorts of stuff. I wouldn't be put off by some acting like they just came from Pecatorial.... Most of the folks here are more than happy to help. Read up a little and ask some questions. I'll be willing to bet they get answered in a more friendly fashon.

This is partially true,

I agree because, I like to think of websites as a totally evil entity. I mean as fishenfreak points out they are not us... this is not me really talking here, this is the website that you are reading. In fact as I type I wonder how much the evil webserver is going to change my post in an effort to keep safe all that pristine water I am trying to share, all of the fish destroying patterns I am telling you about, and all of the techniques that I will demonstrate.

I disagree because, I am here to fill your mind with so much information that you will have a hard time sleeping at night. Think of a fire hose being sprayed full blast into a funnel feeding a drinking straw into a hole the size of a chum's boo boo blaster, that is what will happen as long as I am around. The only problem you are going to face is that you will have to pick and choose what information you decide to retain in your memory bank. There is little to no possible way for anyone to retain the sheer amount of fishing information I can offer without loosing something in the process. I recommend keeping the simple stuff in your brain, breathing, eating, sleeping, stuff like that you don't want to forget, but peoples names, places you have been (other than the bathroom) what you do for a living, etc... all that can go.

Just let ole Duncan know when you are ready for your first lesson. I will have to issue this electronic information dump via PM however because I would not want just anyone opening this thread up and being bombarded with such an impressive array of fish mastery.
While your at it do you wanna write my school essay for me?

Fair enough, i did ask for any and all advice. Thought yours was a bit condescending though and so responded, its not that big a deal man. Tight lines
