Boy oh boy talk about confidence.....do you know many guides, if so they are feeding you a line. Any guide that has that attitude, would be the last one I would ever book as I would know they where a liar before even fishing with them. NOBODY can guarentee fish everytime they go fishing.....that is why it is called fishing and not catching.
As for the cascade having plenty of fish.....Dude wake up you are dreaming about both these subjects. You went to the cascade for a few days and those 3 days you where there, I just talked to one of the regulars I fish with there(I could not make it up there since 12-31) but was told how I missed out as it was the best week yet, finally more then one or two fish being caught. You catch a couple fish and that means there are plenty of fish, funny guy!

Still pretty darn short sighted. Let me know how this opinon works out for you in a few years after you've joined the adult world. Absolutes are someting you want to stay away from they tend to bite back.
Hahahaha! That's great, catching fish every time. That would be fantastic wouldn't it. From a bank, from a boat, it doesn't matter. Some days the fish won't cooperate. I have years of notes, maps, holes everything you say and I've marked too many fish to count, but there is no way that I can guarantee a catch. Guides get skunked sometimes too. I can't tell you how many times I went out on a charter, or floated with a guide until I grew up and realized that they call it fishing for a reason. If you caught fish everytime, they'd call it catching. When I'm fishing with clients, I'm teaching lessons, I'm showing folks how to fish, tie knots, rig up, where to fish, what to fish when. I'll hook fish and then hand them off so that my guys can learn to play a fish, even when they haven't hooked one themselves. And I give them the best advantage that they can get on any given day on that river. But sometimes there aren't fish there, or they're not cooperating. I'm sure that you've been skunked an awful lot Bonker, and I get skunked way less than you I'm sure, but yep, it's going to happen. True story, and I guess I'm letting the cat out of the bag here. But if I get skunked when I'm out with a client, I tell you what - everybody else is going home fish-less too. Because I work my A$$ off to get my guys on fish hands down. If there weren't days where people are going to get skunked, if it was easy to catch fish, than I wouldn't have a job. It happens to the best of us every once in a while.
Well said Nate! Sounds like the words of a good guide! Never fished with you but I know you know your chit! :salut:

With that said, If guides felt they would never get skunked, they would say "NO CHARGE if we don't catch fish"! Danny I have fished around you and know your capabilities. I can safely say that if Danny gets skunked everyone fishing that area was also skunked!!! =D> Seen him catch fish when nobody else could! :salut:

If you want to speed up your learning curve, hire Danny or Nate and focus more on what they say then enjoying the day fishing. You can fish anytime but when you pay these guys get your moneys worth ASK QUESTIONS! you know the saying no question is a dumb question. If you really focus on what they tell you and watch how they do things and ask why they do it like that(this will help you remember). Then when you are fishing where fish are, you will catch fish, if you apply what you learn. Never believe that it is a luck thing, if it was luck you would not see 10% of the people catch 90% of the fish! Not to say people don't get lucky sometimes but that is not what you want to rely on.

why do you have to hire anyone, take the dude out for free I would just to show the basic stuff I only share secrets with my close friends though. You guys get less skunked than I do because you guys go fishing what 200-300 days a year when I go around 100 days, for how much I go and how much I catch I will say I am doing good but not great enough to gurantee anything that is why I am not a guide. FF is always successful because he know every little slot in the river to fish during every little water changes on different rivers that equaling fish on the bank, big part of being a guide is knowing where the fish are which comes with the time you go fishing, since I do not fish all that much I have to rely on internet and a system of fishing buddies.
Guides that I believe will always put someone on fish would include Anglers Guide service, Mike Zs, Swannys, waters west, R&K and Mystical legends and I know BNR and downstream guide services are 2 good local guides that I know of will put you on fish consitantly. All I know is that if a guide does not have tohe attitude to get me on fish than I would probally not book with them because that is the whole reason why I am going on a guided trip
Also goodtimes I am not saying the cascade was red hot but the fish were there just a matter of knowing how to catch them during those conditions which I know you or FF or even Nate are fully capable of doing.
FishingPacNW just keep trying ask question is a big part of learning how to catch fish, if you want to catch a skookumchuck steely just PM me and I will point in the right direction like I have with other people that I know but just to clear the smoke I have hook many skookumchuck steelhead but I am no master like schu is but I do know where to fish and what to use to be successful there. But one thing if you fish the wallace a lot why don't you just go up to reiter one day and fish it. Trust me you will hook 5 steelies in 1 day at the skook.

to further my point, i have fished multiple times with R&K, Phil, Other guys like Bonner Daniels, ect... and have had some great days, also i have been skunked with ZERO hookups, with each and every guide ive gone with at least once, except Phil. So, you may think these guides dont ever get skunked, but they do. Join the real world brother

I can see guides getting blanked on the cow because there are hundreds of them pounding the same stretch. Again I do not really care what someones dreams are I am just saying that a 1 fish every 10 trips are not very

I think you can't even purposely get skunked on the skagit unless you are not fishing with a hook during pink season haha, gonna be fun taking the sled up there this fall. [drool]

That's GOLD! By the way, do you run into many of your fellow guides at those terminal zones?

umm... yes? most guides fish terminal zones because you can consistently put clients on fish... like... the cowlitz? super terminal zone and from feb-april has every veteran guide within 200 miles running the blue creek drift. clients want fish, thats how you get them on fish. Guiding is a business. I offer my clients the chance to fish a river such as the nooksack, where there are NO people, and a very small chance of hooking up, or going to a terminal zone and catching limits. You know what they choose? terminal, every, single time. Not easy to get a client to drive from seattle to forks for a day of fishing either you know. So... you got a point or just tryin to stir up s**t again? ](*,)

Persistence pays, a motto to live by. Took me 2 seasons to finally hook a steelhead. Nate and freak are good guys, I haven't had the pleasure of fishing with them and doubt if I ever will. But hire one of them if needed.
Fishing isn't a hobby, It isn't for fun. Fishing is life.

My point? First you named a bunch of guides you know and fished with, saying they all get skunked sometimes. Then follow that up with stating that YOU however dont get skunked. You are obviously the best guide out there, that's all I am trying to say. I think that was what you were trying to say also. [thumbsup]
