i think the seals do make a difference when water clarity is good..
where i hoooked a king couple weeks ago the water was real murky.. the seal was on the other side of the boat about 10 to 15 feet from where i was trying to play this big fish.. none the less we were freaking to get the fish to the boat.. we didn't even know what it was until it got real close.. KING! ack!

haha trust me brother, i woulda been freakin out too, with a seal that close to my fish, im honestly suprised he didnt go for it, theyre usually deadly!!

We were making so much noise with the rod bent over I think we were scaring the seal, now if it was a sea lion......

Actually, I believe that TPU had 8 ho's last Monday and they got 29 more this week. 3 or 4 weeks ago I was at barrier freedrifting eggs and netted a 25+lb URB fall chinook for the guy to the left of me and at that point the last fall chinook count was 3! Crazy.

Anyways, back to the topic. A lot of the local rivers are tough with the water this low, but if you are in high school and have the opportunity to go out and fish after school a couple times a week, try and learn the Puke (Puyallup)! Start with a couple small corkies (enough to float your hook), a size two hook, and some .5, .75, and 1oz cannonballs on N. Levee RD. Cheapest type of fishing there is, about 30 minutes from Bellevue, and if you get out of school at 2ish you can beat traffic on the way down there, fish for 4 hours and miss traffic on the way back! Good luck to ya, I wish I would have started hitting the rivers hard at your age!

Sorry I whined I was just tying to explain my predicament. I hereby pledge to go fishing more than once a week. Thanks for the encouragement everyone I guess ur right. I have had a hard week this past week since my dog died, I am swamped with AP homework, and I just want to be fishing rather than going to school. I guess I kinda channeled all my negative energy and stress into my earlier posts. Agian really sorry. If anyone has any stratigies on how to squeeze in fishing, let me know 'cause fishing is how I unwind.
