its is FAR FROM the acts of the few when talking about natives and their disrespect for the environment, majority is a better word IMO

I've never had any contact with Native Americans within the world of fishing, so I cannot speak to some of the extreme waste that I often hear about. I am willing to take the word of a few of the folks on this site, because some of you have gained my respect over the years.
But what I HAVE had contact with, and repeatedly, is the average Joe out there in the woods or on the river.... and I'm talking about a guy who looks just like myself. This average Joe drops his cans and plastic, cigarette butts, and all sorts of stuff.
So what is worse over-killing and wasting fish, or being a total pig? I think both are attrocious. And while some of the natives are prob. littering as well as wasting fish.... Many of the Non Native peeps are also,, littering, AND SNAGGING fish, and fishing outside of the regs, limits, license, etc.
All cultures using the outdoors have a long way to go in regards to managing ourselves.

totally agreed quad, but in my experience i have met TONS of great legal fishing non-natives on the river, occasionally seeing lawbreakers, while EVERY SINGLE experience in my life with natives on the river involved dumping chrome fish just for the eggs, testing the rivers with nets and dumping whole dead fish out of the test nets, crazy drunk natives shooting guns and yelling on the river, just plain dumping guts and smelly fish along side the road, IT GOES ON AND ON and it PISSES ME OFF :thumbdown

So metal you are telling us you lump one group of people because of a few individuals... if you choose to fish were there are obvious issues from what people say on the forum then I see an issue with your choice of fishing spots.the puyallup is a big river lots of areas to fish. not saying that is the answer but if known issues why put yourself in that situation?

I had people yell at my wife on the river yell at my son and daughter on the river they yelled at me. As for me I can care less I have fun and Ignore them just to push the buttons... but yell at my kids and wife then that's where I fly off the handle I have ran people off the river due to people talking to my family like they have the right. sorry but these were not Indians doing this either. sorry both sides have issues too many chiefs not enough Indians lol everyone want to be sole owner of the rivers but can't own it...

I had fish ripped off my line when I yell fish on people cast over me none of that bothers me due to I CHOOSE to fish where there is 50 other people. I will get another fish is how I look at it. more time on the water then doing the honey do list. intentional acts is a different story though.

You can not condem the whole tribe because not every single tribal member is netting, or fishing, or drinking, or yelling obscenities, or threatening kids, or hanging out under one bridge. ](*,)
I've seen way more of non-natives getting trashed on the river and yelling obscenities while fishing than natives and if anyone is threatening a 7yo, I'd call the cops no matter who they were.
I fish not because I regard fishing as being terribly important, but because I suspect that so many of the other concerns of men are equally unimportant, and not nearly so much fun. ~ John Volker

I know what your talking about fish freak. All I know is, what I have seen the Puyallup Tribe do to fish under the bridge down there at their base camp is plain disgusting. SO many wasted fish! :( A few of them were respectful, but the majority of them aren't at all. My woman is Muckleshoot so I have utmost respect for Native Americans, but even she says they need to rethink their priorities and fishing tactics. Aside from all the disrespect and 2ft wakes they send at me after netting everything in front of me, I still show them respect as its their right to be there too.

last year people were tossing lead at the boat on the combat area.

as someone else posted a rant about drifting down the green fisherman pissed off because they wanted to take a ride down the river. I agree with his rant we are all there to use the water they are going from point a to point b easy then back they Indians ran up the river they didn't say crap to anyone and a few people started talking crap and saying well they spooked all the fish. why I don't know I just reeled my line in waited for them to pass and re-cast 4 people had fish on hell I wanted them to come back through got the fish moving lol. it was a nice fat hen also eggs are drying in the garage now.

Like I said before Want and Waste I see an issue with the fish will still be used just not by someone who will want to eat smoke or whatever else with it. drinking well heck I drink when I fish I don't get lit though but i will bring beers with me in the summer and winter I have a flask of vodka. keeps me cool and warm.

Metal the prior post you asked "How do I not condemn the whole tribe". yeah you are nutts haha Just kidding you man.

now do they pay a fee like we do. to fish or they just get a free for all?

sorry I have never looked into all of this as I never cared still really don't but if we all can have a Legitimate conversation without it getting out of hand I am all for it. so excuse some of my crazy questions.
