Re: today catch of da day
thats a nice one, I make easy chenille jigs with marabou or yarn tails, I am going to try all my jigs on the cascade and cowlitz this winter. I still think my g loomis float rod is the best IMO along with a 9'9 berkely with a clear drift and aero jig/fish doctor.

They'll hit about anything that moves. We used to toss spinners like the size they use on the Columbia for kings, huge orange things. Just below the falls by the museum in B'ham. C&R all day on those uglies!

First cast with a stee-lee spoon I lost a nice hatchery buck at the bankon the skagit, First cast with a BC steel on the cowlitz got me a 13.76lb summer steely and then 2 cast later I lost it to a HUGE...rock. My favorite bites are the spoons/spinner hits and a king egg bite, the tug is the drug

Nice one ODH!!! Those stripers are unbelievably powerful fish. I used to fish off of Pier 33 in SF for them. I had a buying operation there for a number of years. They hit like nothing else!!! A buddy of mine in Turlock fishes the Sac for them and always has stories for me! I need to head that way one more time. Thanks for the reminder!!!

we were with a charter and we were plunking eels and yeah those blue fish are mean teethy fish, if you though a chum was bad you have not seen a blue fish, we had hooked some that broke our line at the hook and we were using really heavy line too.

Was he wearing an Oakland athletics hat? Some guy was and was just slaying them while I was there. He caught 5 for every 1 I caught. He was releasing everything. Mine was only about 9 lbs that I kept.OFFDAAHOOK wrote:buddy just stopped by my home he got da biggest puy ho this yr sofar he landed 30 silvers today catch and release and kept this monster 15# ho,keep in mind he weighs almost 300lbs

Saw him walk out with a small jack tonight. Lost mine in the bushes on the far side. Spooled me 3 times before he made a final dash for the bushes and got all snagged up. Snapped him off and he stayed there for a while as he was pretty tangled up. Drove over to see if I could free him but he w gone by the time I got there. I'll get him next time.OFFDAAHOOK wrote:hes my friend just mover up from cali..hes da destroyerbugmasta wrote:Was he wearing an Oakland athletics hat?
