Silvers in the River

Nice fish Jake those are really bright.Sam is right there should be another good push of frash silvers due to the rain.I live on the Kitsap Peninsula so most of the rivers I fish are over in Mason and Jefferson Counties.I'm going to try The Tahuya River in Mason County in the next couple days I'll let you guys know how that goes.

Thats what Im thinking Sam... I finally caught a 5# Silver out of the Green, but I live right by it and fish it often. The snoho should be good when the water drops.
The Tahuya, I really used to like that place. The channel has really changed there near the mouth. Seems the #s have been going down last few years, still fun place to go though.

I've noticed the drop in numbers myself.It gets netted pretty hard.But it's close and if nothing is going there it's not too far to Dewatto I can fish the Salt and the river.

Chums should get pulled in too with the rain. I've heard they are showing around the Skok and are coming down and starting to filter into the Puget Sound rivers as we speak

is chum salmon hard to catch i heard they put up a good fight and i want to try and catch some

They aren't all that easy to catch in the salt, but they will readily bite in the rivers with the proper setup and presentation...

They won't run up to Spokane, your going to have to come west to find them...

The only lures I throw for silvers are blue fox spinners in "blue" color. And Dick nites half silver half gold. And red yarn and corkys. (if the fish are darker, yarn seems to work best for me)

All of these methods will produce fish around here.

I have been fishing the Green once a week for the last few weeks in the Kent area and have been getting good numbers of Pinks. I caught a 26" that was 10" high early last week. Last Friday I fished for 1 1/2 hours and caught one pink. I have seen a couple silvers caught while Down there. They were caught on silver spoons. I have been fishing with corkies and yarn. Orange seems to work well.

hey RobertW have you ever fished the green in the tukwilla area? i was there the other day and was wondering were and how to fish it.

just went to the green 1st time in a week and had a few silvers on but never landed em...i was using a silver blue fox spinner

WHERE IN TUKWILA AND KENT DO YOU GUYS FISH? IVE BEEN WANTING TO FISH IT, SINCE I LIVE DOWNTOWN RENTON, AND WORK ON WEST VALLEY HIGHWAY IN KENT. I SEE THEM JUMPING WHEN IM BIKING TO WORK. BUT I DONT SEE ANYBODY FISHING, SO, I THOUGHT IT WAS OFF LIMITS. ANY IDEAS FOR SPOTS? THANKS.

I've heard the Skagit system has been reallly good for silvers lately. Got a report from a buddies dad and he went out and got 10 between 2 other buddies...

On the green, if you see them jumping get on them. I have been catching a few but not seeing any jumping. I see alot of downstreamer pinks breaking the surface. I caught a chum the other day on a dyed shrimp tail. Sometimes you have to make your own trail down to the river in the Kent/Tukwila area. It can be hard work but well worth it...
