2012 Vancouver Island Pic HEAVY

Post by RiverChromeGS » Sun Jun 17, 2012 6:04 pm

we started another year on vancouver island this week, took the boat up and moored it for the summer, and did some early season bottom fishing, no salmon around till july, thats gonna be fun, but for now, we got some hali's, big ling limits and much more. Enjoy! I will update regularly after each trip

I'm gonna have to disagree there Freak, a nice hefeweizen batter slab of ling beats the pan fry in my book. But I do agree, ling is a nice change of pace from steelhead and salmon.

killer! we do that a bunch here too. But when its fresh, we pan fry it because it gives you the taste of the fish without any batter or anything, and its killer!

Got a 105lb halibut, lots of lingcod over 20 pounds, biggest chinookw as between 35-38 pounds we had to release because we already had a limit! Biggest chinook we killed was 32.5lbs! Heres the pics

How come whenever you take a picture of a fish on a scale you always put your hand on the fish and pull it down?

Haha well, actually, that scale at the marina makes the fish turn sideways so you cant see them for pictures, so i am actually just letting the fish rest on my hand so it doesnt turn sideways, im not pulling down at all, the fish is really 32.5 pounds. To prove it, check the picture below, and the picture near the top where I am holding the halibut. the scale goes sideways with a king on it, so you gotta turn um, My fish are plenty big enough, i dont need to pull the scale down any more than it already is [flapper] [flapper] [thumbsup] [thumbsup]
