The culmination of a few hours work:
Nice! I've got fresh roe from the cowlitz, and a bunch of leaders all tied up. I'm waking up at 4 AM on Wednesday and I'll be out there with my new rod. I just made a fresh batch of weights too. It'll be nice to fish the sky again, it's my favorite river up here, even though the fishing is never as hot as the cowlitz or the Bogey or Duc, but you can't beat the scenery.

Save some for me. I can't make it out until Friday and then for only an hour if I'm lucky.

I was up at work today and there were sleds buzzing up and down scouting for tomorrow's opener. Water is down around 6000 some cfs right now, but is still murky, about 2 foot vis, maybe a little more (about perfect for fishing though, steelhead green as it were). Forecast calling for the river to come up to around 8-9k in the next 24-36 hours and by next week it is predicted to really BLOW OUT starting Monday due to snow melt.....
Gook luck to all going out tomorrow. Say hi if you see my boat.

If I see you I'll yell out! But I'll be on shore in my secret spot so who knows. I'm just happy to fish the sky again, I've been going through withdrawals big time.

Ingihuswick, did you get out today? We fished all the way from Lewis st to sultan and back down. Mostly side drifting, also used bobbers a bit and back trolled mag lips and kwikfish for a while. Hooke one fish toward the end of the day down towards the bridge but never saw it. No fish for us. Heard of 1 or 2 caught, didnt see any caught of any kind. Lots of boat traffic though!
Nate, were you up on the cracker bar around 9? Saw someone that looked like it might be you but couldn't tell.
Hopefully others did better than us. Will be fishing again tomorrow evening, probly have a shore dinner bbq if anyone else is out and about shoot me a pm.

I was down river from cracker bar about a 1/4 mile on the steep hillside at sunrise, saw the whiskey sponsored jetsled have one on and spit the hook and also catch one, i had nothing like that so I went and fished the bottom end of the cracker bar had a couple nibbles almost positive they were squawfish or whitefish no real power on them, I saw one fish roll right in front of me and one guy have one on for about 4 seconds at the cracker bar, that was about as exciting as it got. Oh yeah, matt i saw you for a second around noonish as you motored back up, you were across the river I tried signaling but you were changing out some gear i beilieve, until next time

Yea, I was there. I thought I saw you, wasn't sure. No luck here, I had one on, but the hook didn't stick.

Haha, I'm pretty sure we exchanged glances as I floated by. I was like, "Is that?... maybe? Ah, can't tell". You seemed to have the same expression on your face, haha.

Hahaha, I was on the lookout for you. IT was a slow day, although I was glad to be fishing the Sky. I'm going to be getting out there again sooner rather than later. You can always tell me by my patchwork neoprene.
I hate leaving gear on the bank, so I always look ridiculous with everything I've got attached to me my vest and jacket.

Cracker Bar is in Sultan, when you cross the truss bridge on Hwy 2 it's on the other side of the river. To get to the spot, after crossing the truss bridge, you take the first right and cross the bridge over the sky and there's a little gravel road on the left. You can park there and follow the trails.
Most people drift and plunk that section. Not my favorite section, but some guys do well there.
