Creel Survey Reports - southwestern Washignton
Hey Guys -
Thought you might be interested in what I'm seeing at the lakes I am working. I will use this thread to keep everyone updated rather than crowd up the Q & A thread.
This will be reports for lakes in my area which are Clark, Cowlitz, Klickitat, Lewis, Skamania and Wahkiakum counties.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask. Today is the first day of my creel field work so this report only reflects today's surveys.
My survey week is Monday - Sunday.
Week of April 3-10
Merwin Reservoir - continues to be hot fishing! Today I counted 31 boat trailers, 36 adults/6 juveniles with 130 kokanee kept and 9 kokanee released. Also released 5 rainbow trout. Water temp 45F.
Horseshoe Lake - 2 adults. No fish kept/released. Water temp 50F.
Kress Lake - 8 adults/5 juveniles with 7 rainbow kept and 15 released. 1 brown trout released. Water temp 50F.
Silver Lake - 5 shore anglers with four rainbow trout kept and 1 released. There was a bass tourney yesterday and I heard a rumor there was about 11 fish caught but I haven't been able to confirm that yet. Water temp 50F.
I will submit another report next Sunday evening.

Thank you!
I figure this is a helpful tool for folks that are trying to figure out where to go or where not to go as the case may be!
Also, I'll throw out in case people are curious as to hotspots in between my Sunday evening creel reports, my cell phone number is 360-601-1168. Feel free to call at any time. The only time I don't answer is if I am with my horse but otherwise, I take calls on weekends and evenings.

scream....looked like a shlap stick scene from the 3 stooges...all busted out laugh'n until the osprey came up with and flew away with abouta 18 inch fatty..a chorus of moans and groans and a few dirty words were followed by more laugh'n...i was still giggle'n about it when a hauled out....DOG

Oooh! I want a catfish.
RE:Creel Survey Reports - southwestern Washignton
is that a flathead catfish? my experience tells me it's not a bullhead variety of catfish, because of the forked, rather than rounded tale. and that it's not a channel, or blue, by the coloration....but the head looks like a channel cat, not a flathead.
