Christmas Favorites.
Its time people.First off "HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO ALL" I want to hear some holiday favorite recipes. One of my favorites is my Brownsugar/dry mustard/dry ginger coated ham.Baked in the oven till almost blackened . It has a spicy sweet crust on it that is fantastic. I use a bone in smoked ham. The bone and remainder of meat makes for the greatest Pea soup.Whats your signature dish?
When youre up to your rear end in alligators, its hard to remember that the initial plan was to drain the swamp.

That sounds really good Racfish. I think I will have to try it sometime.
I'm not in the toilet yet, but I'm definitely standing on the rim.

It's not a main dish of course... but my thing is peppermint cheese cake. It's made with crushed candy cains, cains put in a towel, then crushed with a hammer. They melt into the cheese cake while baking. yum yum.

My family always makes Yorkshire Pudding, it is some sort of British dish that's essentially a butter pudding. The texture is similar to bread pudding but it is smoother because it is made with like 50 sticks of butter. We have that with roast beef and a home made au jus.... Put the au jus over the entire plate and enjoy an artery clogging experience.... necessary once annually.

I enjoy a good meat pie on the holidays. You put steak, kidneys, and onions and you bake it in a pie with rosemary and salt and other stuff. Leave the kidenys out if your not down with that. Sometimes I'll put slices of potatos in it, sometimes not. Smother it with gravy and it's better than anything. It;s great on the early nights and it goes well with bourbon.

With enough Boubon everything taste great. Hehehe.I do enjoy organ meats but the cholestral in organ meat is astronomical.Unfortunately. :-( But then with enough bourbon ,who cares.CHEERS
Matt I used to go to a friends house for xmas dinner. Yorkshire Pudding was one of his favorite dishes. Golly that stuff is sooo good but so rich.I didnt get to 320 lbs eating fruits and veggies only. Now i'm down to 230 lbs and dropping.I dont eat too much rich foods anymore. I still make them but I give it away .

I alternate yearly between a spiral sliced ham (Costco has a good one) and a bone in prime rib roast. This year its prime ribs turn. I placed my order with the butcher a month ago and they age the beef to perfection. A nice arugula salad, fresh green beans, garlic mashed potatoes, the prime rib, and a good bottle of red wine. No desert.

Peanut butter fudge and chocolate mint brownies.......they are both amazing, if you don't have a sweet tooth you may not like them but well worth the time to make..

RE:Christmas Favorites.
Christmas morning every year is the best breakfast.
Waffles with homemade wild blackberry whip cream with Little Smokey sausages on the side. Nothing better in my opinion.
Horrible berry year, this year on account of the weather, will have to settle on store bought blackberries.
