Rac who's critisizing, Jak nobody's jealous and Scott yes, some do need to get a life. Some choose to not exploit their rivers for many reasons. There are many on here who choose not to tell the WWW their go to/hot spots and they're smart fishermen! Not everyone needs to exploit their rivers' to only have a flood of people go there and fish just because a few think we have to share. Just because one does not share info/pics that we worked hard on obtaining ourselves over the years does not mean we do not catch fish or we are critisizing people that need lives. Good luck if ya make it to the river tomorrow Matt!

psst.... I have a secret hot spot I'm going to share... it's called the Snohomish river. You'll find it on the maps. Just put your boat in and use your fishing skills and knowledge to fish areas that look like they hold fish... but let's keep it our secret... :-$

there are no secret spots on big rivers - there are guys that know how to fish rivers better than other guys, and there are guys that are in the right place at the right time. But secret spots? Not when we live in a location with thousands of anglers that fish these rivers on a regular basis. Now, if you wanted to talk about secret spots on the Cedar, I would buy in to that argument.

I think Matt is developing a great skill set and it shows in his proud pics. pilchuck obviously has his skills down. Web sites are for sharing the fun of the sport we all enjoy.

I for one am VERY jealous and I greatly appreciate those kind enough to share information with new guys. Thanks again Matt!!

I mean, come on guys.... its a river, or the ocean,... with fish... they move through and more come in....Its not like its a secret deer hunting spot that only holds a certain number of animals and once they are gone they are gone....

Im with Notabasturd. I unfortunately have to work 6 days a week since the downturn in our economy.But thats only for hopefully this year only.I love seeing pics of chrome hos too. Having to fish Sundays with the crowds is a killa.What we all need to do is just show up to Matts house a lil before dinner and camp out waiting for a fresh fish dinner. All 1400 of us.
When youre up to your rear end in alligators,its hard to remember that the initial plan was to drain the swamp.

Darn Mike U went and gave up the whole can of beans on the secret spot!...:scratch:

At least U didn't mention the other secret spot the Cowl,,, err uh the south river.

Pilchuck, that steel in your avatar is a beaut monster and those coho chromies are "!!!!!"

PS- racfish I like the idea havin' Matt hook us up with some coho grub. Better yet, looks like pilchuck is stacked too so he can round out enough for all 1400 of us! Maybe even more so, that 1st coho is DEEEEP. I'll bring the alder to cook them over.

Well, we got the skunk-olla today. DOH! Hooked a fish no more than 10 minutes after putting out the gear but it came unbuttoned. Probly be back out Monday after the big rain!

Hey Matt, are you familiar with these resource?

USGS Stream Flow Data

It's a great resource to monitor river levels, which can be a big factor in success, I think more so for steelhead than salmon. It's a good way to monitor the rivers after they get blown out from a big rain. I think common wisdom is after the river peaks and then declines in flow rate, day 3-4 is optimal. Anyone else have a take on this?

Mike, secret spot? The SnoHo? Never heard of it! Big rivers do hold untold secrets. As well as small... Good advice to your followers "just put your boat in and use your fishing skills":ncool:

You should try my raging large river Coho mojo spot, the Tilton... Running what, 200-250 CFS right now???:-" :-$

Actually, I don't have the time or fresh skills some of you guys have so I had to use the dreaded dental treatment. Got all but one on the mouth. 3 inside, 2 outside to inside/on gumline d'oh[blink] , and one under the 'chin oops [blush]. Yes. long leader but not terrible about 4 feet. Can see 'em in my river report.

Hahaha, that is kind of a secret spot. I grew up fishing at the barrier dam and your tip was the first I ever heard of it. Even my dad didn't know they trucked the fish up there. I felt kinda dumb not knowig it too, it's only a twenty minute drive up to my old house.

Looks like several rivers popped quick on the big rains but are also dropping back down quick. May bring in some new freshies, hopefully...

I was out there today and the water was looking alright. High, but got a bit of visibility. That was in the morning. Didn't stay, but saw fish.

More fish porn for you today. Plugs are the name of the game. Fish came back trolled, trolled, standing still in current, and casted. Also caught a 18" Cutt on a K13 Kwikfish, lol! I was surprised. I was going to release it but my buddy insisted on takin' it home. Orange only produced 1 fish for us early on, so we got creative and found fish on other BRIGHT colors. The all copper one looked great in the muddy water once the sun busted out.

The water is still high and dirty on the Snoho, the sky was looking pretty good, and the Snoq is looking like CRAP. Tomorrow might be a good day :cheers:
