Im tellin ya, the internet speed AT Microsoft aint all that hot. Lots of latency at time when there shouldnt be.

The infrastructure in general in the SeaTac metro area has been upgraded a lot over the last 10 years. Lots of fiber optic ran out to the neighborhoods around here.

Got my new laptop with the WiMax card in it. Im currently connected to CLEAR and the speed is more than acceptable for away use. There are 3 other WiMax networks with in range of me. Comcast 3G, Clear, Sprint, and another I forget.

Right now on CLEAR from South Seattle/North Tukwilla (by the BECU)

2.61Mbps download
0.44Mbps upload

gotta love subscription music services. I use rhapsody, $15/month, but Microsoft has an even better deal because for the same money you also get to keep what, a dozen songs a month?

I've made this post a sticky. It is interesting to see the result averages from around the world. You can do a search of results for Washington State and see which is the fastest. Click on World Results>Search All>narrow search down to Washington State.
With fiber optics coming on the scene, results using it will be interesting.

Us county folk seem to be a bit slower.....[sleep]

Its not this fast all day though. Sometimes it take a few minutes before a web page will load due to heavy network usage, streaming apps and 20,000+ open database connections.
