Whos got a scooter, and loves to ride it?

Yea, yea, I know.. been told this before. "1200cc aint what I would call a scooter".

I have an '02 Kawasaki Concours, and an '06 Ninja for my lady. Im looking into making some mods to one of the bags to support a tube for a rod or two. I'd rather not get a pole that breaks down into 10 pieces to fit in one of the bags so a mod seems in order.

Anyone else here like to fish or camp from their bikes?

14 street and show bikes 6 dirt bikes in my life.

Raced SIR and Bremerton race ways in the late 80's on twin turbo Kawais made a few boo boos pushing 250 HP on 450lbs of a bike we ran struts as we snapped the shocks off them launching them!

6ft 3 plus and 250lb not great riding size dirt or street but I pressed my best

My best was a 8.95 slow now for the 1/4 mile but my Rayjay custom Turbo Cal built monster was never beat until I crashed her! 10 quart deep sump oil pan on her!

My last was a 2000 cc twin custom 2003 they made me sell as nerve damage , bad eyes one good hand and growing boo boos were not a Great Combo plate to push on the street.
I cried my eyes out!

I let the Rockets go and converted to the big Ground thunders V-twins something about Vibration Jenn and many other said who dared!#-o :colors: :cyclopsan

Ask (Jim Boltz)= Cycle Centers who owns many bike shops who had the fastest baddest most 3 mile burn outs he helped with some of my builds and finished a Twin Webber Z1R.

They blocked Airport road over 100 guys came light to light a guy brought a puffer charged ride I brought up my almost 300 ponies Kawai they used Radar on the race I pulled a 158mph light to light way under a 1/4 of a mile never even saw his ride in my mirrors:cyclopsan
I better get off the Bike threads but I have 100's of pictures of them as well I think I will just at this point stick to boats and fish and don't start a thread on BB Hot Rods PLEASE!:compress:

My best event was 140 mph gunned by 20 or more officers :cyclopsan I-90 Denny Creek area I made the top of the pass before I let off they tuned more then my bike

and the guy with the Hemi Cuda got beat bad but got the free pass the helicopter finally got me

Thats when the Judge said I will punish you and bad She did:cheers:

Ahh, my old life...

I used to buy wrecked streetbikes and build euro style streetfighters out of them. Aside from those, I had the Ducati for trackdays and riding like a jerk on back roads...

Turns out, motorcycles and I get along a little too well. Much better than the Police and I get along when I am on the bike.

You guys are lucky because i can't own a bike, if i had something that would do 200mph i would do it and if i survived i might do it again that scares me about myself.

My wife and I belong to PNW Riders. We go on a lot of rides every year, and ride to/from work most days. My wife got hers out about a month ago now.

Yea, What you need then is an older 650. My KZ650 topped out about 120.

But 0-120 sure could be fun.

Moving up to a much heavier bike helped keep me in check. Once you pull up to a light and you cant put both feet flat on the ground and you have to struggle to keep it up, plus add in a couple small 0mph incidents that caused $500+ damage to the bike. My fear is sand/gravel.... and rush hour. Ive seen downed riders on the hwy, I plan on keeping my blood&bones inside me thanks.

Its not about speed with me, its the cruise. Last year, dont remember the date. I got up (3 or 4 am) and dressed. Hopped on the bike and cruised up to Greenwater for breakfast (5ish), stopped along the way to find out why the White River looked so odd, well it must have been the 10million Humpies headed up stream that caught my eye. After breakfast I cruised up to Sunrise for a cup of coffee and an eyefull. Did I mention that the day was crystal clear, sunny and warming up fast. The view, amazing. I made it home before anyone woke up (9ish) and cooked breakfast for them.

Now I just need to combine fishing and riding. Saw a guy at Deception Pass last year with a nice camp pack set up on his 650 Dual Sport.

Is it summer yet?

I hit the winter steelhead up here a couple times this season on the bike. If you look close, I got the fishing pole on my back. It was only two miles to the river though....

Just my 81' yamaha commuter. But it works for fishing AND riding!!

And, of course, my baby I had to sell last summer, CB650.

Ive had a few, loved them all. The current one is a Ninja 900. Its a few years old but I keep her nice and clean.

Head up to the Cascade Scenic Hwy and carve up the twisties.

Yea, thats what the book says. My fuel gauge shows empty after you use 4 gallons. So... I have never had the guts to test that out. But it does still have a fair amount of gas in there.

Actually, I recently lost my keys and had to drain the tank to take it in to have a key made. It took almost 7 gallons to refill and still had some sloshing around inside. Gas gauge starts showing low with 3 gallons still left in tank but my bike also does not have a reserve on the petcock.

Im loving this weather. Havent driven my car to work in weeks.

Ahh my other love...

My dad was a flat tracker - back in the day of running tires with edges and no brakes:batman:

He put me on a bike the week after I learned to ride my bicycle without training wheels. Told me "This is easier, no pedaling!" Showed me the gas, put it in 1st and gave me a push. Didn't tell me how to shift or stop - I rode and rode and rode and when I finally got tired I rode in to quit, realized I didn't know how to stop, hit the door of the pickup and fell over. Burned my ankle on the exhaust. Dad picked me up and said "ok we got that out of the way, now I will teach you the rest!"

Been riding ever since - raced motocross for awhile. Did hillclimbs and flat track a couple times too. Always wanted to do drag, but never had the chance.

Had many many bikes over the years. My current one I call my "retirement bike" because it will serve me until I retire.
The cruise control has a limiter at 86MPH, but it really holds that speed well!:cheers:

I love to do long distance. The 1st pic is me at Sturgis, SD for lunch - that run I started in central Nebraska and got to Seattle in 1.5 days (The whole trip was 4000miles in 8 days, Seattle > Reno > Bonneville Salt Flats > Neb. > Sturgis > Seattle).

The 2nd pic is the Bonneville Salt Flats.
The 3rd pic was my little commuter bike for awhile - I called it my "100mph moped" because that is about as fast as it would go. Man that exhaust was loud!

Here's my custom that I've had for a couple of years now.
Kameleon paint flames...lots of Arlen Ness.....Baker 6 speed.
4 5/8 stroker kit....it'll try to run out from under me!

I know this won't be a big bike or anythign but I will be buying a 250 dual sport bike verry soon. Just want something I can ride on the road if need be and take on the trails.

But wh knows know I might jsut buy a better boat
