How Far Will $1,000,000,000,000 Go?

In the last week I have been listening to experts throwing dollar amounts around like the words are a simple roll off of the tongue. Millions, Billions and even Trillions. Some are estimating that the final cost of the disaster on Wall St. will cost up to and maybe over 1 Trillion Dollars!

I was looking at a dollar bill on my desk and started to ponder something......
If a person were to lay dollar bills end to end, how many would it take to go around the earth to make up 1 trillion dollars.
O.K. you math majors, please feel free to correct any mistakes that I may make.:thumleft:
I had to go on line to find a calculator that would accept 1 trillion#-o

A dollar bill measures 6"
1 mile =5,280 feet
Therefore it would take 10,560 dollar bills to go 1 mile

1,000,000,000,000 (1 trillion) divided by 10,560 ($1.00 bills per mile) = 94,696,969 miles

94,696,969 divided by 24,901.55 (circumference of the earth)= 3,802.85 times around the earth.

Who is going to pay down this debt?8-[

Well if everyone contributed $3,300 to cause, and that's everyone in the US, we'd have enough to pay it off. Problem is that there are some people who won't make that in 6 months and some people won't make that in a year. Now then if everyone in the world threw in $151 we could pay it off. But I DOUBT that would happen either. So maybe we should ask Mr. Gates for a loan...

No, not retiring soon. And the way things are going, that may not even be in the picture.

It's not that I have a lot of time on my hands, just thought I would try to put these money figures in a different perspective. I think that people sometimes tune out things if they hear it so many times. They just shrug their shoulders and say,"millions, billions, trillions, what's the difference."

As far a work goes, things are slowing some, but still staying busy.
