This week I planted my Snow Peas. I usually plant 3 rows all 1 week apart .Snap peas are next. By Mar 1st I hope to have red radishes going in. I'm hoping for a long hot summer .

I'm starting all my greens and brassicas indoors this weekend! Last frost is only 6 weeks away

Nice to hear of all the gardening, means spring can't be far off. Here in Spokane I getting ready to snow blow the drive way again with snow hitting us for the next several days.

Today will be rototilling day.Snow and Snap peas are in. Next week will be the second row. Gosh I love this time of year. I plant earlier then most. The price of seeds isn't too bad even if some don't sprout.

Just picked up all my veggies. Planning on planting most of the garden this next week. I planted early last year and took a lot of heat for it. Although when everyone was planting theirs last year I was already harvesting food!

Trying my hand at potatoes and sweet peppers this year. Last year I over estimated the lettuce So now I have a couple rows to plant other stuff. Doing asparagus. My garden is only 9'x12'. But we also have one at work. Our city put in a bunch of blah bushes, so last year we tore them out and made a 15x40 garden and we are expanding it this year. Last year we even put in some fruit trees! haha Oh and I had to build a front garden in our house and create a buffer for the sidewalk. So I raised it, and added 10 blueberry bushes! Had tons of berries last year and expecting way more this year! How big is everyones garden and what is your prize produce?

I plant a lot of potatoes but have had a lot of scab on them so I am planting in a new area. They were in areas along the fence of my yard that is about 3 foot wide and 32 foot long. I will switch them to where I have been planting corn which is 4 by 8 feet. Corn will go along the fence this year. Then I have 2 other beds that are 4 by 8. Raspberries and strawberries are in a 6 by 8 area.

I will be forgoing fishing for the next several weeks while I get my garden going. starting seeds, prepping garden beds. I haven't bought canned tomatoes, potatoes or onions for about 3 years. I am out of onions now, but still have plenty of potatoes and canned tom's to get me through the season. It may be until the Kokanee get together before I get out again. I live near ponds that the state stocks with trout, so if I get an itch, I can walk over and catch trout to get my fix.

Toni, did the scab make the potatoes inedible? I have had scab on the pototoes before but it didn't really hurt the inside. what I've read and seems to have been confirmed by my experience is that the scab usually means too much nitrogen ( often happens if you use manure for fertilizer) in the instances where its happened to me it hasn't hurt the inside of the potato, it just makes it look less appealing. also rotating your crops on at least a 3 yr rotation discourages disease and insect problems even if its just the other side of the bed. It takes more thought that way but I seem to avoid more disease problems if I do it. maybe you already do that but it just sounded like you may keep them in the same place

Great to hear Ralph! Thanks for this thread, it motivated me to pop a few plants in yesterday. I kept it simple, 4 broccoli and 4 bib lettuce, just $4 total from Freddies. Not super economical but it is super simple!

I'm slacking big time on the garden. My oldest keeps reminding me but work is piled up. Maybe this week end.
