Thats the way to go Easy Limits. CHEVY!! Your rig is HUGE. I need to get new tires but with gas the way it is Im having a heck of a time paying for that. Eventually I am going to get all the camo. accesories for the truck and may boat. For that and the tires is going to run around 5 grand so it wont be anytime soon LOL. but Im saving
RE:Whats pulling the boat?
Started with the 2006 RRS.. but since it sits a lot lower than the boat, the wind would grab the boat and you would get the "tail wagging the dog" effect. Late last summer I traded in my jeep and got something that would wag the tail
05 Escalade w/20s. Makes going over the pass a breeze (the RRS was a breeze too, but a little small with the dogs, gear and whatever else we were taking).

2004 Ford Explorer 4x4 XLT - no problems pulling the boat - ( 17.5', '72 Glastron Open Bow Tri-Hull ) but would like a bigger rig in the future, wife has heart set on the new Tundra's - maybe when Gas Prices go way down.

RE:Whats pulling the boat?
new truck, Easy, good for you. My 2002 Chevy Silverado 1500 4WD just past 28K. No problems, other than rotten gas mileage. 14.8mpg with the raft on top, 13.8 mpg pulling my 15ft aluminum boat, 12 mpg pulling my 18 ft seaswirl. Got it up to 18mpg just freeway driving.
RE:Whats pulling the boat?
On the look out for a cheap small aluminum boat to pull with our car.

Bustin,
Shouldn't that nice looking black car you have be pulling a Boston Whaler?=p~
Well, I don't pull anything, I just have an older 1991 F-150, which runs great, that I put my pontoon boat in.o:)

RE:Whats pulling the boat?
Well, I have to say, Ford still builds the best trucks!
S'ok me and the painter go round and round on the Ford/Chevy thing everyday. At least we both agreee on one thing, we'd both buy a Dodge before either of us would buy the "other" make. And I won't ever buy an import brand truck no matter where it's really built. As a body man, I've had just about every make and model torn down, and I know what is good and what isn't from first hand experience.
My '04 Ranger 4x4 Supercab pulls my 16' Hewescraft no problemo, even with the huge air dam canvas up. No need for more, and I get good gas mileage to boot. If I need more than what my Ranger can do, I fire up my 72 F-250 4WD with the 429, there isn't anything that truck can't do.=p~

Wilkstr,
That is my only car. That truck in the background is my brother in laws that was at a family get together. Wish I had a truck. I sold my gas guzzling Silverado, but now still wish I had it at times.

RE:Whats pulling the boat?
I have 2 pickups to haul my monster 12 jon boat around. First my 91 Toyota 4X4 king cab I bought brand new. Now it has 330,000 miles on it and to me its a bit scary to take on a long trip but will take the boat to somewhere close. It gets around 18 miles to a gal for all the abuse I've put into it. My newer truck is a 2004 Chevy Silverado ex.cab 4X4 1500. I needed something a bit bigger for when I take me and my boys camping. Trying to put one of them in the back seat of the toyota just dosn't work any more.
RE:Whats pulling the boat?
02 Dodge 1500 Quadcab with a 360 and canopy so the whole famdamily can fit and a 02 Nissan Frontier 4x4 for fuel savings when its just me

Wow! Was that some kind of U-tube picture or something? I know there is a story behind the bus/boat pull.
