Where to go for camping and fishing

Post by Thepru » Wed Aug 10, 2011 7:12 pm

My friend and I have a tradition and we go out on a fishing/camping trip for a few days each year. This will be year eight and we always have a blast. We have gone to potholes and Roosevelt and wanted to try something new. We live in the Puyallup/Tacoma area and wanted to know where is a great place that some guys can go out camping, fishing, and some drinking of course, that is not more then 4 or 5 hrs drive? any help would be appreciated.

Sorry for the REALLY late reply. Its a state park and there is a nightly fee. Fresh and saltwater fishing.

New guy here. Growing up I had great times as a kid pulling up on a lake beach after a good day fishing, pitching a tent and cooking up the days catch over an open fire. Question is.. any good lakes that you can have good fishing and just pull up on a beach and camp without being in a camp ground and hoping the crack heads are not ripping off your truck and trailor at a launch.

I hear that you can do that at The Potholes in Eastern Wa. Camp on one of the islands at the north end ofthe lake.

Good spot for camping and fishing is Alta lake. You can catch lots of rainbow trout with powerbait.

Try Cluxewe resort ( 5 hours north of Port Angeles with ferry ride) Fish the rivers for salmon, steelhead or trout. Full hook up is $25/night. We caught silvers casting buzz bombs in the surf..fun as hell
