I generally get really pumped for the Ebay opener, but my dad and I are taking off tuesday for Sekiu. We are going to take part in the King opener and the last 2 days of halibut. Even if fishing is crumby(which I doubt) I will have a great time with my dad.

The King fishing is usually off the hook on the openers
If the caves arent producing dont be afraid to go fish the coal mine area along with mussiolani rock. We pulled a 35lb nate out of the bay last year
And tons of 15lbers off the coal mine area

the seattle times said that wadda island was putting out a few, but silvers are thick and hard to keep off the hook. I have never fished it for salmon but all the research i've done says it's a close fishery and near slam dumk. As for butts, i was just there 2 weeks ago and found limits at 250-300 of chickens, but the barndoors were coming from 500+. nothing huge, I think 72# won the derby but saw a bunch 40-60. I'm pumped. look for yuasa's fishing blog in the online times today talking about the coastal salmon reports.

If u want coho fish the shipping lanes
Kings are in 100-150 feet of water

Not all are super deep
Caught the 35lber 50 feet down mid day

Good luck
