I am going on a cruise to alaska and was wondering on your opinions where to fish i have a choice of Prince Ruepert and Ketchikan what do u think

For what? When?
Either way, I'd enjoy fishing any chance on a cruise. I've fished NEAR Prince Rupert off a floating lodge in the middle of no where, and never out of ketchikan.

I know people that hit Ketchikan and have caught many species. I would pick there!

Either place you go it's gonna be good fishing. 40-50 fish (coho, caught trolling cutplugs with an occasional king) days 20 mins out of Prince Rupert via a seaplane was a normal day...Was also considered a good year but there should be plenty of salmon there even on a bad year.

PR hands down. You'll get the big River's Inlet fish cruising down the coast along with a load of other salmon Good old Digby Island...Either way, you can't go wrong. But PR is an experience of a lifetime!

well i will be off a cruise and i mean in terms of size and numbers of fis where would be better

Hey FM....when you say cruise...are you talking about a cruise ship? If you are,how much time are you allowed?

well i mean on a cruise ship and it would be about a 4 or 5 hour trip so i was leaning toward ketchikan

The likelihood of a WL.com member where the runs and size of fish are gonna be bigger is tough. I'd suggest contacting some guides out of each place and talk with them. Your gonna have to do some work to ensure that you are getting the right fishing trip in.. It might be tough to get a 4 or 5 hour charter boat, especially if it's in the middle of the day, cause charters usually run morning and afternoon sessions....

well we would be in port at 4 in the morning and be fishing early and i was thinking alaska has more fish

I've heard great fishing tales on both.I've been to Alaska several times but have never had the pleasure of fishing it.
Good Luck...if you've never been there before your in for a real treat. Words will never descibe it(NEVER) I'm not a religious person. But here I can say "This is God's Country"
